When Josefina first heard about it, she thought it was quite unbelievable.
"She must be pretty ruthless to do something like that to herself if it was to cover something up. A real tough cookie!"
"We can't be sure just yet. It might have just been an accidental burn," Oliver added, trying to keep things in perspective.
He gently pulled Josefina's leg onto his lap and started massaging it, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
"There's some truth to the saying, 'You need a hard heart to stand firm.'"
Oliver chuckled, "Josie, you're soft-hearted with me, and yet you stand your ground just fine."
She playfully kicked him with her other foot, but Oliver caught it effortlessly.
"Josie, are you trying to murder your husband?" he teased.
With a mischievous grin, Josefina replied, "I would never, especially since I love you so much."
She reclined on the bed, her eyes full of teasing charm, her every expression a perfect picture of allure.
Oliver, captivated by her, let his hand wander from her foot upwards, inch by inch.
Josefina let out a soft sound of pleasure, as the air between them began to grow thick with a charged intimacy.
But just as Oliver leaned in to kiss her, Josefina's stomach churned violently, and she nearly gave Oliver an unexpected face wash.
She dashed into the bathroom, with Oliver following closely behind.
Josefina was sick to the point of dizziness, and Oliver was right there, rubbing her back and handing her a glass of warm water to rinse her mouth.
Oliver’s face looked even more distressed than Josefina’s, as if he was the one feeling ill.
Josefina couldn’t help but laugh, "Oliver, anyone would think you’re the one throwing up."
Holding her tenderly, Oliver confessed, "Josie, I’m having second thoughts. Maybe we shouldn’t have gone down this path."
Josefina pushed him away, stunned. "Oliver, what are you saying?"
"I just hate seeing you go through this, Josie. You've lost weight."
"Well, carrying a baby for nine months is no walk in the park. You and the kid better not get on my nerves, or I'll be the world's most pitiful woman."
Oliver chuckled, gently pinching her cheek. "If the kid gives you any trouble, I'll kick him out. You're the one we need to spoil in this family."
