Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1108

Mandy was a bundle of excitement and slight embarrassment as she thought back on her past actions. Luckily, Josie was the forgiving type. Josie really was a gem!

As they made their way further inside, Percy lit up with a smile when he spotted Josefina. That was until he noticed Mandy tagging along, and his enthusiasm dimmed a bit.

“Josie, good to see you,” he greeted.

“Percy, I want you to meet my cousin Mandy. You mentioned yesterday that you needed an assistant, so I brought her along to help out.”

Percy was momentarily taken aback. This wasn't exactly what he'd envisioned. But he always trusted Josie's judgment.

“Hi, I'm Mandy,” she said, extending her hand with confidence.

Percy shook her hand politely. “Percy.”

Just like that, they were introduced, and more importantly, they were now partners in a way.

“Mandy, hang tight here for a bit. Percy and I need to hash out a few things. Feel free to look around, just don’t stray too far. Once Percy is free, he’ll show you around.”

“Sure thing, Josie, I'll stick around here,” Mandy promised, not planning to wander off.

...

Josefina headed into the office with Percy right on her heels.

“Josie, we've uncovered something major. We've received intel from Japan about some seriously unethical experiments happening at a research base there. They're reportedly creating a bunch of identical test subjects.”

Josefina was shocked. These people were audacious!

After a moment, she said, “This reminds me of that spy case that was all over the news recently, and those folks infiltrating the elite circles. Could they be trying to clone a key decision-maker?”

Percy was concerned, “If I don’t go and see for myself, I’m worried things could escalate and put you in a tough spot.”

These schemers were targeting the powerful and influential, like the Harrison and Baldwin families, especially Oliver, who was at the top of the social ladder. He would undoubtedly be their prime target.

“Percy, hold off on going. If these messages got through, they might have been detected. Going now would be walking into a trap. Trust me on this and don’t make any unplanned moves.”

Percy nodded, convinced. He always valued Josefina's advice.

As they wrapped up their conversation, Josefina had a sudden realization about something crucial.

“Take Mandy and start the experiment. I’ve got to step out for a bit.”

Time was of the essence! She needed to verify something urgently!
