It wasn't even her idea to leave!
...
Oliver was at the wheel, with Josefina comfortably settled next to him, as the car hummed with the soothing notes of instrumental music. Her hand rested gently on her stomach, which was still flat, not giving away any hint of the pregnancy she carried.
Her world felt like a slice of paradise: surrounded by people who loved her and with someone she cherished growing inside her. Everything seemed blissfully serene and just perfect.
"I think I've had my fill of grilled salmon tonight. I’d like to walk back home later," Josefina mused.
"Sounds good. I'll hand the car over to Linden and join you for the walk," Oliver replied.
"Is Linden really that good behind the wheel?" she teased with a playful curiosity.
"There’s not much Linden can’t handle. Whether it’s flying a plane, driving a car, or steering a boat, he’s got it all covered. And let’s not forget, he’s a whiz with all kinds of firearms. He was an all-around combat ace until he had to retire because of injuries," Oliver explained.
Josefina was taken aback. Who would have thought that the usually mild-mannered Linden had such an impressive background?
"Wow, your household is like a treasure trove of hidden talents!" She chuckled, thinking about Zhang Ma, who took care of her.
"What about Zhang Ma? Is she secretly a superstar too?"
"My dear Josie, ever so sharp! You hit the nail on the head. Zhang Ma is quite a force to be reckoned with, especially in hand-to-hand combat."
Josefina was momentarily speechless, jokingly picturing everyone from the butler to the gardener at Oliver’s place having secret ninja skills.
No wonder Oliver's estate was like Fort Knox!
"Some retired voluntarily, others had to step back due to injuries. With nowhere else to go, they decided to settle here at the estate. They help keep it secure and have a peaceful place to retire," Oliver shared thoughtfully.
Josefina nodded, appreciating Oliver's thoughtful approach. The estate was idyllic, perfectly located, and offered everything needed for a comfortable life.
"When I retire, I’d love to spend my days here at the estate," she mused, already picturing a future of leisure.
