Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1139

Josefina was nestled in the car, peeling an orange, the fresh, zesty scent filling the air around her.

At the wheel, Oliver muttered, “Josie, you'll be in the hospital for a few days, just to rest up. If the Cole family invites you to any more get-togethers, you can use this to gracefully bow out.”

Josefina chuckled. “Oliver, you’re such a sly fox.”

“Are Percy’s team enough for the task? If not, I can bring in some experts. We’ve got to get to the bottom of this.”

“Don't worry, the lab’s well-staffed. There are other professors there too.”

Eager to dive into the action, Oliver first made sure Josefina was safely settled at the hospital, given her recent scare.

Once they arrived, Grandpa Robert and the rest of the family quickly followed suit.

Josefina found herself reluctantly lying on a hospital bed as her family bustled in.

“Oh, my poor Josie, what a scare you’ve had!” Hattie exclaimed.

Garrett added, “How did a rogue horse end up in the stables? Someone must’ve done this on purpose.”

Grandpa Robert grumbled, “Garrett, you're stating the obvious. Someone definitely planned this against our Josie!”

Emily chimed in, “We need to catch whoever did this, pronto. People like that are just wasting air.”

Listening to her family’s suspicions, Josefina noticed they were all pointing fingers at Cole.

Hattie, clearly miffed, said, “The party was at Cole’s place. Whoever’s behind this might be close to him.”

Garrett cautioned, “Hattie, keep it down. Mr. Brandon will be here soon, and we don’t need him overhearing and getting upset.”

Grandpa Robert nodded, “When Brandon arrives, I’ll chat with him about his ties to Cole.”

Emily sighed, “Do we even need to ask? They’re not close or in touch. After all these years, who knows what’s really going on?”
