Tammie never expected Josefina to cut ties with them so decisively. Were they really going to end things for good?
Cassandra and Tammie exchanged an awkward glance before scurrying off, tails between their legs.
Tori and Jett were taken aback by how fast the mother-daughter duo could bolt.
Tori, not ready to let it go, muttered, "Ms. Josefina, we can't just let them get away with this. We should give them a piece of our mind!"
Jett added, "Let's break their legs this time. It'll stop them from coming back to cause more trouble."
Josefina shook her head, "We're at the University of Melbourne. There are too many eyes on us. If anything happens to them here, I'll be the first one they suspect."
Tori sighed, "Ms. Josefina, I've got something I need to do. I'll be back later."
Jett started to protest, but Tori cut him short, "Jett, you stay here and keep an eye on Ms. Josefina." And with that, she sprinted off.
Jett stood there, lost for words.
He thought, "I could handle this too, you know!"
Josefina quickly called Tori, "Tori, they're not going to leave campus so easily. You should come back."
Josefina was sure that Cassandra and Tammie had backup waiting somewhere, ready to cause trouble and pin it on her.
Left with no choice, Tori turned back.
...
As Josefina was getting ready to leave, her phone buzzed. It was Alfie.
"Master," Josefina greeted, her voice bright.
"Josie, I'm sorry. Logan... he got away," Alfie said, his voice heavy with regret.
Josefina's heart skipped a beat, "He got away? Master, why do you say 'got away'? What happened after Logan returned?"
