Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1170

"Alright, take care of yourself. I'll swing by after work to see you."

Alex nodded and left the office.

...

Josefina arrived at the school.

The moment she set foot on campus, her phone buzzed with a call from Mr. Marquez. His voice was a mix of humility and eagerness. "Hey, could you drop by my office for a minute?"

The casual tone was jarring, like a cat trying to swim. It just didn't suit him, and it gave Josefina the creeps.

Clearing her throat, Josefina replied, "Mr. Marquez, I'll head over now."

She hung up quickly, hoping to dodge any more awkward "hey's" or "ya's" from him.

Walking briskly, she made her way to Mr. Marquez's office.

As she sat down, he placed a steaming cup of hot chocolate in front of her. "I heard you ladies enjoy a good hot chocolate," he said with a hopeful smile. "Thought I'd get you one to try."

But Josefina wasn't having any of it. "Mr. Marquez, you didn't call me here just for hot chocolate, did you?"

He chuckled awkwardly and took a seat. "Well, it's about the new medical society the school just set up. I wanted to talk to you earlier, but I wasn't sure how to approach it. There's been some reshuffling behind the scenes, and I want to make sure you're not discouraged by any potential roadblocks. You're a force to be reckoned with, Josefina, and I want you to stay strong."

Josefina raised an eyebrow. The school's politics were more tangled than a bowl of spaghetti. Though Mr. Marquez was the principal, he wasn't the only one pulling the strings at the University of Melbourne.
