Albert chuckled, "Boss, you never give us a reason to worry. When you're on the job, we all breathe easy."
"I'll head back now. You guys should have a meeting to discuss the proposal I sent over. Reach out if anything comes up."
With that, Josefina was on her way. Her visit was like a soothing balm for everyone, reminding them not to lose their cool, especially when dealing with someone like Rhett.
As Josefina left the tech company, someone on an upper floor, armed with binoculars, took in the entire scene.
...
Josefina popped into a charming little bakery, the air filled with the heavenly scent of freshly baked bread. She picked out an array of breads, her arms soon filled with a delightful selection.
Just as she stepped outside, she bumped into a familiar face.
There stood Rhett, looking sharp in a sleek black coat, his shoes polished to perfection, and his pants tailored to highlight his tall, athletic frame. His complexion suggested a life spent outdoors, giving him a rugged, tough-guy vibe.
He greeted Josefina with a sly smile and a casual wave. "Fiona, long time no see." His smile didn’t quite reach his eyes as he took in Josefina’s appearance.
She paused, keeping a careful distance, her eyes like jewels, sharp and discerning. "Took you long enough to show up. I was starting to think you'd gone into hiding."
Rhett was momentarily at a loss for words. Her sharp wit was just as he remembered.
This was the Fiona he'd been itching to see again.
"Fiona, I heard you're seeing someone?"
Josefina shrugged it off, "Whether I'm dating or not, what's it to you? Did you follow me just to find out if I'm taken? Rhett, are you harboring a secret crush on me?"
Rhett's composure slipped, his voice rising in denial. "No way! Don’t make stuff up! I’m not interested!"
