“Dorian, you’re not a kid anymore. You can’t lean on me for everything. I gave you the company so you could learn the ropes. How many years has it been? Why can’t you handle things on your own yet?”

Garrett’s words were sharp—he was only a breath away from calling Dorian completely hopeless.

Dorian just sat there, silent. He had nothing to say and honestly just wanted to be left alone.

“Alright, enough bickering. When it comes to babies, none of you youngsters have a clue,” Hattie cut in, not bothering to sugarcoat it. “Dorian, Reid, Calix—you three don’t even have partners yet, and you think you could take care of a baby? Maybe focus on finding someone first. Let’s not talk about anything else for now.”

The three brothers looked downright miserable, each one more defeated than the last. Finding a partner and raising a kid were two totally different things!

While the family was still in the middle of their heated discussion, Oliver came back with Josefina.

The moment they heard the door, everyone got up and headed to the hallway to greet Josefina.

Seeing her family all gathered, Josefina’s face lit up and she hurried over, smiling.

“Mom, Dad, Dorian, Reid, Calix—you’re all home.”

Calix grinned. “Sis, I’m off this week. I’ll be your personal assistant, make sure you’re taken care of, whatever you need.”

Hattie didn’t look impressed. “Calix, you should be out working—go earn some money for baby formula.”

Clearly, she didn’t love the idea of anyone stealing her daughter’s attention.

“Mom, I’m her brother, not a stranger. Don’t worry—the main job of taking care of Josie is all yours. I’m just here to help out.” Calix flashed a cheeky smile.

Hattie nodded, satisfied with his answer. “That’s the right attitude. You can help me look after Josie.”

Calix raised an eyebrow, looking pretty pleased with himself.

Oliver chimed in, “Mom, thanks for everything. I’ll make sure to set aside more time for Josie too. Once I wrap up work, I’ll be home so I can be there while she gets ready for the baby.”
