Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1276

Dr. Berry crossed his arms. “And what if I refuse to leave?”

Logan’s eyes narrowed. “Then don’t blame me for what happens next.” He flung the mop toward Dr. Berry without hesitation.

Dr. Berry ducked, but in that split second, Logan whipped a small stone straight at him.

The stone hit Dr. Berry squarely. The burst of pain sent his temper over the edge and he charged at Logan in retaliation.

The two of them clashed, punches and kicks flying. After all, Logan was Dr. Berry’s own creation—an experiment he’d once thought he could control.

But just when Dr. Berry thought he had the upper hand, Logan landed a punch that knocked the breath out of him.

Blood splattered across the floor.

Dr. Berry collapsed, coughing and spitting out blood.

Logan stood over him, mop handle in hand, barely hiding his contempt. “You lost.”

Dr. Berry’s pride stung. Losing to his own creation—how could this be happening? He pushed himself up, wiped the blood from his mouth, and suddenly, a wild excitement lit up his face.

“The student surpasses the master. Incredible! All those years ago, every other subject failed, but you survived. My experiment didn’t fail—I just needed to give you time to grow. I didn’t lose. I won!”

He sounded almost delirious.

Logan started to move in again, but Dr. Berry threw down a smoke bomb.

A thick white cloud filled the room, and Dr. Berry slipped away while Logan was still catching his breath, unable to settle his racing heart.

Soon enough, it was the day of the big bridal show at the fashion company.

Alex and Deanna were running the event together. The venue was gorgeous, decked out in flowers and fairy lights, the kind of place that made you want to fall in love—or at least try on a wedding dress.

It felt magical, full of promise.

Makiko and Cole showed up with Sandi and Wilder, arms full of flowers.
