Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1286

“Alex, do you really not believe me?”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you,” Alex said, worry etched all over his face. “I just don’t think Ms. Josefina is the type to be heartless or cold. Let me talk to her and see what’s really going on, okay? I promise, whatever happens, I’m with you.”

He turned to go, but Deanna grabbed his hand, holding him back.

“Don’t talk to Ms. Josefina. I don’t want you to mess things up with her because of me. I was the one who dropped the ball at the show. I lost control, and that’s on me. She gave me the responsibility, and I get why she’s upset.”

Deanna clung to Alex, her grip desperate, her eyes pleading.

Alex stopped, looking at her for a long moment. He let out a sigh. “Fine. We’ll figure this out together. We owe Ms. Josefina an explanation, and we’ll get it.”

Deanna hugged him tight. “Promise me you won’t talk to her about it. I know you two are close, but she’s still the boss. She’s going to do what’s best for the company, and we have to respect that.”

Alex frowned, but didn’t push back.

Josefina sat in her office, phone in hand, and called Oliver.

“Oliver, you don’t need to worry about things on my end anymore. I’ve got it handled.”

“You fixed it already?” Oliver sounded stunned.

It was unbelievably fast.

The realization hit him—Josefina must have had everything under control from the start. That calm confidence in her voice said it all.

“I’ll talk to you later. I need to call my family and let them know not to worry.”

Before Oliver could say anything else, Josefina hung up.

When Dorian answered her call, he sounded nervous.

“Hey, Josie.”
