Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1287

“Josie, did you watch that video I sent you?”

“Yeah, just finished it.”

Josefina’s eyes lingered on the footage: an old guy had come looking for Logan, and they’d even gotten into a scuffle. But what really caught her attention was how normal Logan seemed—his face, his reactions, all of it.

Percy messaged, “Logan never mentioned Dr. Berry came to see him. I only found out because the garden’s hidden cameras picked it up.”

They’d only figured out the guy’s name—Dr. Berry—from the surveillance audio.

Josefina replied, “This Dr. Berry has clearly been watching you all for a while. Or maybe he found you through me, started keeping tabs on each of you, and that’s how he discovered Logan.”

Percy said, “Or maybe the real boss behind the lab already knew about Logan and called Dr. Berry in. It’d explain why he knows so much.”

Josefina typed back, “I’m going to find Logan and ask him myself. See what he’s thinking.”

She couldn’t help it—her curiosity was eating her alive. If Logan was getting better, why hadn’t he told her? What was he hiding? Logan’s mind had always worked on a different level; what was his plan this time?

Percy offered, “I’ll go with you. If Logan loses it, I can protect you.”

Josefina shook her head. “No need. You’ve got your own stuff to handle. I’ll take Tori and Jett. If Logan tries anything, those two can handle him.”

It made sense—Tori and Jett weren’t just strong, they were both armed. Still, Josefina wouldn’t let them use their weapons unless there was no other choice. The last thing she wanted was anyone getting hurt.

...

Logan was in the garden, watering flowers like he didn’t have a care in the world.

He had his back to the path, but when he heard footsteps, he spun around, a huge, boyish grin lighting up his face. “Master!”
