Reid didn't flinch in the face of Dominic's provocation. He stayed cool as a cucumber and said, "So, you're telling me you want me to smash your robot to show off what Dier can do? If that's the deal, I'm game."
Dominic shot back, "Alright then, let's see our robots duke it out. I'm curious about what your Dier's got."
Albert chimed in, "Are you two going first, and then it's my turn?"
Reid replied, "Sure thing."
No sooner had Reid finished talking than Dier sprang into action, launching an attack at Bee. Dominic's robot tried to dodge and countered with a burst of flames, but Dier quickly ejected a fireproof blanket from its body, blocking the fiery assault.
Dominic was left slack-jawed. Reid's robot was seriously powerful!
With a cocky raise of his eyebrow, Reid taunted, "That was just the appetizer. Since you're itching to get crushed, let's finish this!"
Right after Reid's declaration, Dier, still fending off the flames, shot out arrows. The arrows plugged Bee's openings, and seizing the moment, Dier launched a fierce attack. Dier leaped up, knocking Bee to the ground and swiftly restraining it. With Bee immobilized, Dier stomped on it, breaking a component with each step. By the time Dier was done, Dominic's robot was a heap of scrap.
Dominic, fists clenched and eyes blazing with anger, accused, "Reid, you did this on purpose!"
Reid shrugged, "Didn't you say you wanted to showcase the robot's power? Dier was just showing off a tiny bit of what it can do. Is that a problem?"
Fuming but powerless to change the outcome, Dominic had no choice but to collect his dismantled robot in a bag and slink away. As he reached the door, he locked eyes with Oliver.
Oliver's mocking gaze was more than Dominic could bear. It was totally humiliating!
"Is that the best you can do, Dominic?" Oliver's voice dripped with scorn.
When Oliver reached Josefina, they had barely settled into their seats when the announcer declared the start of Reid's competition with Albert.
On stage at that moment, the Great King transformed into a small dog, leaving Reid utterly flabbergasted.
The Great King taunted, "Dier, you're not as good as me. Better concede. This round is mine, sorry."
With that, the Great King transformed again. The machine shifted forms, from small to large, showcasing its formidable capabilities. Reid was stunned. Albert, the genius, was unbelievably awesome!
Albert added, "If their owner is in danger, the Great King can transform into armor to protect them from harm." Albert demonstrated this himself, with the Great King enveloping him like armor.
Reid had to admit defeat. Albert triumphed once more. Having confidently asked Hattie to reserve a private box for this occasion, Reid now awkwardly wished he could just vanish. He had lost face in front of his sister.
