Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 805

"Who are you trying to wow?"

Josefina strode in confidently, taking a seat across from the woman, her face sporting a professional yet slightly forced smile. "Not feeling any of the designs here? Let's take a look at what we've got."

The manager rolled over a rack brimming with about a dozen outfits, but none seemed to click with the client.

Josefina casually picked up a maxi dress and said, "This one’s not really doing you any favors. With your tan, it probably isn't the best choice from our lineup."

"What did you just say?" Kate shot back, clearly annoyed.

"Look, if you're choosing our boutique, I've gotta be honest to help you find the style that suits you best. If these don't work, we can whip up something custom for you."

Kate frowned, "Custom takes too long. I've got a gala the day after tomorrow, and your timeline just won't cut it for me."

"If our styles don't suit you, feel free to check out other boutiques. Westwood's big; we're not the only shop in town."

"I don't want to go anywhere else; I want to buy from you."

Josefina laughed, her eyes sharp and almost fox-like, exuding confidence. Her beauty was undeniable, matched only by her assertiveness, clearly showing she was far from just a pretty face.

As Josefina's gaze lifted slightly, Kate felt a bit self-conscious, sensing that Josefina might have seen right through her intentions.

Still, Kate tried to keep her cool, wary of losing any leverage.

"Since you're so keen on our shop, we'll make sure to meet your needs. Tell us what you’re after, and I'll get to work on your outfit right now."

Surprised, Kate realized she had underestimated Josefina, thinking she was just another pretty young thing without real skills.

By then, the manager had already brought over various tools for the job.

But she couldn't let herself be pleased; after all, she came to stir up trouble.

"I don't like it," Kate said, against her own feelings.

Josefina chuckled, causing Kate to frown. "What's funny?"

"I'm laughing because you're not being honest with yourself. Your face clearly shows you love it, but since you claim otherwise, take off the dress. It seems our boutique just can't meet your needs."

Reluctantly, Kate removed the dress. As she did, a reporter entered the shop.

"You neglect your customers, failing to meet their demands and unable to design the clothing they desire. Your boutique might as well shut down, and designer Anya should consider quitting the fashion game!" Kate declared, signaling the reporter who snapped a few photos before leaving with her.

The manager looked worried. "Why didn’t you stop her? She's going to spread rumors and slander us."
