At school, five teams were gearing up for the big competition, and both Josefina and Shay were among the contenders. Shay was brimming with confidence, absolutely certain she'd snag the top spot. Josefina, though, wasn't too caught up in the buzz.
"Well, Josefina, you sure seem confident. Hope that keeps up," Shay remarked with a teasing grin.
Right then, Joelle made her entrance. She strolled up to Shay, flashing a bright smile. "Hey, big sis, hope I'm not too late."
Big sis? Joelle calling Shay 'big sis'? That was a surprise for Josefina—turns out Joelle knew Shay.
Joelle's eyes then landed on Josefina, who was standing across from Shay, her expression a mix of arrogance and cold indifference. "Hey, Sunny, aren't you gonna say hi? She's your roommate, after all."
Joelle shrugged, her tone dripping with disdain. "Even though we're roomies, let's just say we're not exactly best friends. Being friends with Josefina? That's a tall order. She's pretty picky about her company. Who'd dare?"
Shay chuckled, "So, Josefina, you're choosy with friends, huh?"
"I'd rather be selective than be a dumpster, accepting everything and anything. Not my style," Josefina shot back, unfazed.
Shay: "…"
Joelle: "??"
Joelle couldn't believe Josefina had the nerve to stand up to Shay. Considering Shay's family background, she was way out of Josefina's league!
Fuming, Joelle demanded, "Josefina, you better apologize to her right now. How could you talk to her like that? Do you even know who she is?"
"What is she? Not human like you?" Josefina retorted with a smirk.
