Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 843

Haylee wasn't about to let Joelle off the hook that easily. Joelle had not only ignored Josefina's kindness in letting them work together on the experiment, but she had also swiped the results of their hard work.

Josefina, ever the diplomat, leaned in and whispered to calm Haylee, "Take a deep breath, Haylee. Stirring up drama without proof won't do us any favors. It'll just make us the butt of everyone's jokes."

Haylee took a moment, then settled back into her seat. "You're right, Josie. I got carried away," she admitted.

Damita piped up with a grin, "It's probably better she's out of the picture. Just wait till we clinch first place in the competition—she'll be green with envy!"

They all shared a knowing smile and got back to their project with renewed focus.

Meanwhile, Shay was grilling Joelle about the data she had brought. "Are you sure this is your work?" she pressed.

Joelle replied sincerely, "Absolutely. I wouldn't enter this competition with you just to play games."

Shay gave a nod, dropping the subject, though her eyes drifted towards Josefina, a steely determination brewing in them. Shay was set on reclaiming what was rightfully hers this time around.

Later on, Josefina headed to Hattie's beauty salon. Hattie had texted her, suggesting a little skincare session and a chance to catch up. When Josefina arrived, Hattie was already waiting at the door.

"Hey, Josie, glad you made it," Hattie greeted, linking arms with Josefina as naturally as if they were sisters.

As they walked inside, Josefina noticed someone that made her pause. Hattie stopped too, confused by Josefina's sudden halt.

Josefina didn't say a word but kept glancing back, causing Hattie to wait patiently for her to speak. Finally, Josefina leaned in and whispered something into Hattie's ear, leaving her wide-eyed and rattled, "How could this happen!"
