Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 876

Josefina pulled her hand away with a smile, "Sorry, Hunter and I aren't exactly close. I'm just here to check in on the old man, not much I can help with."

Marina's smile disappeared in a heartbeat.

Darrick wasn't feeling friendly either: "You're here to see my dad? I don't even know you. You must be after our family's wealth!"

Josefina chuckled, "Your family's wealth? That's not something I'd be interested in."

She had her own money; why would she need theirs?

Darrick scoffed, "That's big talk!"

Josefina shot back, "You could talk big too, if you dared!"

Still smiling, Josefina said, "I need to go in and see Hunter, so I'll be on my way."

As she started to walk away, Darrick, fuming, tried to grab her.

If Josefina hadn't been so steady on her feet, she might've toppled over.

Annoyed, Josefina grabbed Darrick's arm and pushed him away with force.

Darrick landed on the ground, nursing his bruised pride.

Marina shouted, "Josefina, that was incredibly rude and uncultured of you!"

Josefina smirked, "My manners and courtesy are reserved for those who deserve them. And you? Not so much."

Darrick, infuriated, got up and charged towards Josefina.

Before he could reach her, Hunter showed up.

"Darrick, what do you think you're doing!"

Darrick stopped as Hunter scolded, "Haven't I told you? I don't want you and your family stirring up trouble here. Who let you in!"

Marina tried to placate him, "Dad, we were just worried about you and wanted to check in."

"Hunter, I'm sorry for the trouble. Seems I didn't do a great job raising my kids."

Hunter was puzzled at how he ended up with a son like Darrick.

"Hunter, every family has its troubles. The important thing is your health. Don't let this get to you."

"Josie, let's go inside. I've had the chef whip up your favorite pastries."

"Thanks, Hunter." Josefina followed Hunter inside.

After they left, Marina and Darrick crept out from their hiding spot.

Darrick was fuming, "That little brat, making me apologize to her. Who does she think she is?"

Marina tried to calm him, "Darrick, just let it go. Dad likes her, and with just one word from her, we're out of the Rowland family. I suspect she's behind us getting kicked out."

Darrick's eyes were filled with malice, "If she dares to mess with me, she'll regret it."
