Josie checked Hunter's pulse, gauging his health with a practiced touch. "Hunter, you're looking a lot better than before. With some exercise and a balanced diet, you're only going to get healthier."
Hunter beamed, full of gratitude. "Josie, thank you. For someone as young as you to have such medical skill, calling you a prodigy isn’t an exaggeration."
Josie chuckled, "Hunter, you're flattering me."
"No, Josie, I'm serious. What you've accomplished is truly impressive."
Hunter understood the hard work it took to reach such expertise. "Josie, don’t worry about what Darrick said. He's just being ungrateful."
"Hunter, I’m not upset," Josie replied. She didn’t let people like that get under her skin. Letting their words affect her was simply inviting unnecessary stress.
Hunter continued, "I have a couple of ginseng roots here. Take them and see if they might be useful."
"Hunter, you should keep the ginseng for yourself."
"My old bones don’t need it like they used to. Please, take it and see if it fits into your remedies."
Just then, Caiden arrived. "Ms. Josie, I'll show you where the ginseng is."
Hunter added with a smile, "Josie, take the ginseng as a small token of my gratitude."
Josie had saved Hunter’s life, and he knew she'd never accept money, so he offered the ginseng, confident she’d make good use of it.
"Thank you, Hunter." Josie stood and left with Caiden.
