Even though Oliver was sharp as a tack, he turned into a total softie whenever Josefina was around.
After they finished their meal, they strolled out of the restaurant and bumped into the Baldwin family, who had also come to grab a bite. Rowan and Sydney, along with their kids Shay and Dominic, looked like the perfect family picture, all warm and cozy.
Josefina took the lead, grabbing Oliver's hand with a smile. "Let's get going. Reid told me he’s built me a robot, and I’m curious to see if it’s my kind of thing."
Oliver nodded, following her lead, making sure not to even glance in Rowan's direction.
Rowan was beside himself with frustration. "That boy has no manners. It's like he's trying to drive me up the wall!"
Sydney gently tried to calm him down. "You know that's just Oliver being Oliver. Don't let it get to you; it's not worth the stress."
Rowan let out a frustrated sigh, his eyes cold as he watched Oliver and Josefina walk off.
Shay chimed in, "If Josefina's with Oliver, can't she talk some sense into him? We're family, after all. We shouldn't be so distant."
Sydney agreed, "Even if Oliver would listen to Josefina, it's up to her to step in. Without that, when will our family ever come together?"
Dominic added, "I'll have a word with Josefina tomorrow. Maybe she can get through to Dorian, and we can all clear the air."
Rowan's irritation only deepened. "Forget about him. Why should we bend over backwards? Let’s see how long he can keep this act up."
Sydney, with a sly smile, convinced Rowan to join them for dinner.
...
Oliver drove Josefina home, steady as ever, unfazed by Rowan's remarks, acting like it was just another day.
Josefina kept quiet about Rowan, not wanting to stir up any trouble for Oliver.
Oliver broke the silence. "Josie, once we're hitched and have kids, I'll be the best dad. I won’t be anything like Rowan, and I’ll never let you down."
