Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 888

Mandy couldn't help but notice that Oliver had this 'do not disturb' aura about him, which was frankly intimidating. Apart from Josefina, he wasn't exactly rolling out the welcome mat for anyone else.

"Josie, I'm heading out," Mandy said, making her quick getaway.

Oliver was sitting next to Josefina, his face lit up with the kind of adoring smile that could melt ice, as they chatted easily. Not too far away, a few people had taken note of Josefina being so cozy with Oliver.

"Did Mr. Oliver finally get himself a girlfriend?" one of them mused.

"Seems like it, and it looks like she's the one. Anyone know her family background?" another inquired.

"No idea. She doesn't seem familiar, and I've never seen her before," someone replied.

"Is Mr. Oliver more into the Cinderella type than a high-society princess?" They exchanged glances, nodding as if they'd cracked some secret code.

"Why would Mr. Oliver go for someone without a notable background?" one questioned skeptically.

"Old Lee, don't you get it? Mr. Oliver's set for life financially; he doesn't need to worry about money. Why would he need a strategic family alliance?" The logic was sound, and no one dared to challenge it.

Nearby, Shay listened to their chatter, her anger simmering under the surface, making her blood boil.

Sydney leaned in and whispered, "Let's not make a scene here; it's not the time or place for drama."

Shay nodded in agreement; she was here for the spectacle, not to stir up trouble.

"Everything ready?" Sydney asked.

"All set, they won't trace anything back to us," Shay replied confidently, which seemed to satisfy Sydney.

Their eyes naturally gravitated towards Josefina. At that moment, Josefina was all smiles, clearly enjoying her conversation with Oliver. Watching them, Shay felt provoked by the intensity of their connection, almost as if you could see the sparks flying between them.

Clutching her cup, Shay's gaze turned sharp and bitter, wishing she could throw it at Josefina's head.

Josefina sensed the intense gaze and turned to meet Shay's lingering look.

Josefina's confident, red-lipped smile only made Shay more furious.

Shay turned away, not wanting anyone to see her emotions on display.

Oliver noticed the change in Josefina's mood and asked gently, "Josie, what's up?"
