Josefina was chilling on the couch in Calix's living room, casually chatting about the upcoming fashion show. Calix didn't even blink before he agreed.
"I'll clear my whole day for you, sis. Just say the word, and I'll strut down that runway," he said with a grin.
Calix was always laid-back when it came to Josefina. Anyone else would've had a much tougher time convincing him.
Scott was getting a bit frazzled. "Dude, you do remember you've got a shoot scheduled that day, right?"
Calix waved it off. "I'll talk to the director, see if we can wrap up my scenes today. If it costs extra, it's on me."
Then he turned to Scott with a little smile. "Hey, how about you organize some afternoon tea for the crew? And make sure there's plenty to go around."
Scott looked a bit defeated. When Calix made up his mind, there wasn't much room for debate. The Harrison brothers sure did spoil their sister.
Josefina hadn't realized Calix had filming lined up that day, and she hadn't even asked him for anything specific. Yet, he agreed without batting an eye.
"Calix, your shoot is important. You should stick with the team," Josefina said, a bit concerned.
"Nothing's more important than my little sister. You hardly ever ask me for anything, so of course, I'm going all out for you," Calix reassured her.
He added, "Sis, I've been burning the midnight oil with these shoots. I need a break anyway. Don’t worry, I'll get my scenes done, and the director will be fine with it."
Calix kept soothing Josefina's worries, not wanting her to feel bad about the whole thing.
After their talk, Scott came back with the afternoon tea, making sure Josefina got a special treat.
"The director's cool with it," Scott said. "Actually, he mentioned we should’ve done this sooner, what with the weather being perfect for those key scenes."
Calix chuckled, "See, told you not to sweat it. Let's just take things as they come."
"Thanks, Calix," Josefina replied, her face lighting up with a smile that made Scott wish, once again, that she’d join their company as a talent.
Scott watched Calix's smug grin and just shook his head, amused.
Xavier didn’t want to face Marina anymore; he couldn’t muster any hope for the future.
Marina, feeling utterly defeated, stepped outside into the blinding sunlight, her heart heavy with despair.
Just then, she spotted someone she had a bone to pick with.
"Marina, take it easy. I'm here to help you," came the voice.
Marina squinted, skepticism written all over her face.
"Josefina, you'd love nothing more than to see us crash and burn. Why would you help Xavier?" she asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"You know as well as I do that Xavier's fate is in my hands, right?" Josefina replied, her voice steady.
Marina, feeling the sway of Josefina's words, started to waver. She scrutinized Josefina's face, trying to sift truth from deceit.
