Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 904

"What do you want from me?" Josefina asked, her voice dripping with determination.

"I want all the dirt on that person—the ins and outs of your dealings with them over the years. Mull it over, but you’ve only got an hour."

"An hour!" Marina exclaimed, utterly taken aback. "It takes longer than that to pull off a heist, and you're giving me just an hour? Since when did your hours become so valuable, Josefina?"

Josefina crossed her arms, exuding a mix of confidence and defiance. "Oh, my time's worth a fortune. You wouldn't believe how many bucks I could've pulled in instead of chatting here. Time is money, sweetheart."

Marina was left speechless. It hit her—Josefina was not someone you messed with. Not only could she throw a punch, but her words packed a punch too.

"Take your time to think. I'll be across the street, savoring a coffee," Josefina announced before making her way into the café.

Outside, Marina stood frozen, her gaze following Josefina through the café's glass window, her expression shifting from anger to resignation.

Eventually, Marina stepped into the café. She sat down, eyeing Josefina's food like she hadn't eaten in years.

Josefina knew exactly what was going on. Oliver had swindled Marina out of her money with a lousy investment, leaving her both broke and homeless. Since her family’s downfall, Marina hadn’t even enjoyed a simple coffee.

Josefina signaled for a waiter to bring another cup. The classic carrot-and-stick approach—offer a treat after a slight. She was curious if Marina would sell out the person in question for a cup of joe.

Marina savored the coffee, clearly relishing it. Josefina then dropped a bombshell, "I might not even cover your coffee."

"What!" Marina's anger flared again.

"There's no such thing as a free lunch, ever heard of that?" Josefina teased.

Marina felt her heart sink like a stone.

Marina’s eyes lit up. That changed everything.

So, Josefina borrowed a pen and paper from the waiter and wrote that she wouldn’t pursue Xavier anymore nor sue him. Marina made sure Josefina included Annika’s name too, safeguarding Xavier from any future claims.

When Marina reached for the document, Josefina pulled back, teasing, "You think I'd hand this over without seeing what you've got first?"

Feeling outmaneuvered, Marina sent Josefina a recording.

Josefina listened closely to the recording on her phone, which detailed Darrick's whereabouts and mentioned a drug Marina was given to use on Darrick.

Hunter had been drugged, and the recording incriminated the person who supplied Marina with the drugs and instructions.

"I have more," Marina hinted, suggesting she had further evidence up her sleeve.
