Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 918

Marina and Xavier found themselves back at the police station, as the investigation had revealed some ties between Marina and an ongoing case.

...

Mandy showed up at the Harrison family home with her parents. She gifted Josefina a huge pearl, a cherished piece from her collection.

"Seeing Xavier in such a mess today was mortifying. How did I ever fall for someone like him? He wasn't even that great to me," Mandy mused, wishing she could give her younger self a reality check.

"Ah, when we're young, it's easy to miss the red flags. Luckily, you figured it out in time. Look at you now, doing so much better," Josefina reassured her.

Mandy chuckled and settled down next to Josefina.

"I can’t take this pearl, Mandy. You should hold onto it."

"Your advice helped me turn things around. It's my way of saying thanks."

Josefina replied, "I wasn't just thinking about you. I was also looking out for my aunt and uncle. My mom only has one brother, and I didn't want to upset her."

Mandy paused, realizing Josefina's help had been partly for her family.

Just then, Hattie, Evan, and Ayala walked in and overheard.

Hattie's heart softened, "Oh, my sweet girl, always so considerate."

Ayala and Evan also had a soft spot for Josefina, "Such a darling girl, who wouldn't love her?"

Ayala added, "Josie, Mandy's offering you a gift, you should accept it. She's turned around thanks to you."

Evan agreed, "If it weren't for you, Josie, I might not have this wonderful daughter today."

Feeling a bit put on the spot, Mandy joked, "Mom, Dad, cut me some slack. I'm supposed to be the older sister, but you make me sound like the wild younger one."

Josefina laughed, "Alright, you can be the wise younger sister, how about that?"

Mandy nodded enthusiastically, "Deal, I can live with that."

Laughter filled the room, and Mandy joined in, the vibe turning warm and welcoming.
