Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 919

Rowan glared at Sydney, who had been by his side for years, his expression growing darker by the second.

"Rowan, why are you looking at me like that? Did I do something wrong?"

Without a word, Rowan flung the papers he was holding right in Sydney's face.

"Your own masterpiece! You know exactly what you've done!"

Sydney closed her eyes, her face contorting with the sting of Rowan's sudden eruption.

"Rowan, what's going on? What have I supposedly done?"

Rowan's voice was as cold as ice. "Just take a look for yourself."

Sydney scooped up the papers from the floor, each line filled with incriminating details about her.

The details were all laid bare, even things she'd forgotten, exposed in painstaking detail.

"All of this, your grand scheme! You wormed your way into my life, made me abandon my family to bring you in. I lost everything for you, and you played me for a fool!"

Sydney clutched Rowan's arm, her voice trembling with desperation. "Rowan, these documents are fake. Someone's out to ruin me, making sure you'd find these lies. The PI you hired was bribed. I'm innocent!"

"Sydney, are you doubting my competence? Do you see me as a fool?"

"No, Rowan, you've got it all wrong."

"I didn't just hire one investigator. I hired five, from different cities. All their findings are right there. Take a good look for yourself!"

Sydney knew the documents were legit, but she couldn't fathom who could dig up so much dirt on her.

She was convinced Oliver and Josefina were behind this.

Oliver had snooped into her past before, but she'd always covered her tracks well. Plus, Oliver had lost interest in Rowan's affairs, not caring who he got tangled up with, even if it was someone from another background.

"Don't touch me!"

Sydney hit the floor, her eyes pleading as she looked up at Rowan.

Rowan stormed out, leaving Sydney staring at his unyielding back.

Standing up, Sydney dropped the act and sank into the couch, trying to act unfazed.

Just then, a servant rushed in, shouting, "Ma'am, it's awful! The master has hired bodyguards to keep you locked up."

"What!"

In disbelief, Sydney charged toward the door, her cries for help echoing in vain, like no one was listening.

She dialed Rowan's number, but it was like shouting into an empty room, with no one there to pick up.
