"I swear, I never meant to hand my sister over to Oliver. I just couldn't face her. I'm guilty." The room went quiet, eyes darting around in silent judgment. Dorian finally broke the silence, "Well, at least you admit you're guilty."
With that, Dorian got up and left, determined to dig into who these people were that dared to mess with his sister. Calix followed his lead, standing up abruptly, "I'm heading out to make a call." And he was out the door.
...
Meanwhile, Jennie and Daniela were having dinner. Daniela was visibly agitated. "Jennie, this is all on you! What kind of awful advice was that?"
"Damita, I was just trying to help you catch Calix's attention. How was I supposed to know he'd be so protective of a sister he just met a few months ago, like she's cast some kind of spell on him?"
"So what now? Calix already sees me as the bad guy. My reputation's shot in his eyes. How am I supposed to be with him now? Jennie, you've ruined everything! What were you thinking, going along with such a ridiculous plan?"
Jennie was momentarily speechless. She offered a reassuring smile, "Damita, I didn't mean for things to go sideways. How about this—we apologize in person tomorrow, alright?"
"You want me to apologize in person? What about my pride?"
"Do you want to see Calix or not?"
Daniela sighed in resignation, realizing she had no choice but to agree. After calming Daniela down and seeing her off, Jennie took out her phone to make a call. "I've talked things over with Daniela. We'll go together tomorrow."
...
Josefina tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. She'd eaten too much and felt queasy. After a quick trip to the bathroom, she returned to bed, letting out a deep breath. Just as she settled in, her phone rang. It was her mentor, Alfie.
"Josie, I'll be picking up South Hill tomorrow, taking him away."
