As they strolled along, Brandon couldn't help but flash a wide, cheerful grin.
"Bennett, take a look at Oliver and Josie. Aren't they just the perfect couple? A real match made in heaven, if you ask me!"
Bennett chuckled, "Sir, you took the words right out of my mouth."
With a hearty laugh, Brandon sauntered over to the pair.
"Josie, you finally made it! I heard you were coming, so I had the chef whip up some pastries, desserts, and drinks. Oliver mentioned you love Asian cuisine, so our chef's busy in the kitchen right now."
Josefina was a bit taken aback by the warm welcome but replied honestly, "Thank you, Grandpa Brandon. You really didn't have to go to all this trouble. I might not even stay for dinner."
Brandon insisted, "Josie, since you're here, you simply must stay for a meal. Besides, I have something important I want to discuss with you."
Josefina raised a curious eyebrow, "Grandpa Brandon, what would you like to talk about?" She took a seat.
Brandon instructed, "Bennett, please serve Josie some tea and bring the pastries and desserts over to the dining table so she can enjoy them."
Standing up, Brandon suggested, "Josie, let's move to the dining room. We can eat and chat there."
Oliver pulled Josefina up with a grin, "It's all your favorites."
Josefina followed them to the table, where a maid soon arrived with an array of treats, setting them down in front of her for easy access.
The pastries looked exquisite, and the selection of drinks was enough to make anyone's mouth water.
"Josie, give them a try and see what you think."
Picking up a pastry with her right hand and a small plate with her left to catch any crumbs, Josefina took a bite. Oliver held the plate for her, making sure she could savor it.
After tasting, Josefina praised, "This is delightful, really well-made."
Brandon beamed with satisfaction and turned to Bennett, "Bennett, make sure the chef stays on, so he can send some treats over to Josie now and then."
