When Finley fired off his question, Oliver didn’t even hesitate before shooting it down with a firm, “No way.”
“Oliver, are we still good friends?” Finley pressed.
“Finley, I've told you before, you need to figure out how Livia feels. You can’t force something and expect it to be sweet.”
Finley retorted, “But it can still quench your thirst!”
Oliver just sighed, “I really doubt it’ll do that.”
Meanwhile, Josefina and Livia found themselves tucked away in a cozy corner booth at another restaurant.
“Thanks for bailing me out back there, Josie,” Livia said, sipping her water, though her mood was still a bit off.
“Finley clings to you like glue,” Josefina remarked. “I swear, it’s like he’s bugged your place to track your every move.”
“Finley's just realizing Shay's true colors and he's regretting it,” Josefina added.
“I don’t care if he regrets it or not. It’s none of my business,” Livia replied, taking another sip from her glass.
Leaning in, Josefina whispered, “Livia, I need a favor.”
“What is it?” Livia asked, leaning closer as Josefina shared her plan.
“Alright, I’ll head out right now.”
“Go tomorrow,” Josefina suggested. “I’ll give you something for protection. Safety first, no matter what.”
“Don’t worry, Josie, I’ll be careful,” Livia assured her.
After they went their separate ways, Oliver arrived to pick up Josefina.
“Josie, come with me to a place,” he said, taking her hand as they drove off.
Josefina soon realized Oliver was bringing her to his home, nestled in a serene setting with a little bridge over a stream.
“Oliver, why’d you bring me here?” she asked.
With a playful grin, he scooped her up, “To do something important, of course.”
Josefina blushed, her mind spinning with scenes straight out of a rom-com.
