Reaching into the medical kit, Josefina pulled out a small bottle. "Oliver, give Sydney this pill."

With a nod from Oliver, two of his guards stepped forward—one grabbed Sydney's jaw, the other forced the pill into her mouth. As the pill went down, Shay and Dominic's expressions turned to sheer terror.

Sydney, unable to free her bound hands, tried in vain to make herself vomit. Soon, she was writhing on the ground, screams of agony escaping her lips.
