Clara flipped open the workbook.

She was well aware of exactly where Jules's academic levels sat.

But shockingly, every single step of his work was correct. The answers were right. Flawless on every question.

If his handwriting hadn't looked like chicken scratch, Clara would have genuinely suspected this wasn't even his workbook.

"Well? I didn't lie, did I?" Jules gloated smugly. "I'm going out to shoot some hoops now. No objections, right?"

Shoving both hands into his pockets, he sauntered toward the door.

So this was what it felt like to actually finish your homework. It felt pretty damn good!

He hadn't taken two steps before Clara grabbed him by the back of his collar. "Hold on. I'm going to give you a few more problems to test you."

This was a system-rewarded workbook, so it wasn't a surprise that he could solve the answers with his eyes closed.

She just wanted to know if he could still arrive at the right answers if she copied the exact same problems into a regular notebook.

Completely unaware of his sister's good intentions, Jules instantly blew up. "What's that supposed to mean, Clara?!"

"Come here and sit down." Clara shoved him into a chair. "Do these problems again right in front of me, and then you're off the hook."

Furious as he was, Jules wanted to prove himself even more.

He had done those problems entirely on his own; he wrote every single letter himself. How dare this woman doubt him!

He picked up a pen, chewing on the cap as he scrutinized the equations.

He had been breezing through them earlier, but now... he couldn't quite grasp what the questions were asking.

Jules scratched his head.

He had knocked out the workbook assignments first thing in the morning. Was he just naturally smarter right after waking up?

He glanced up, sneaking a peek at Clara, only to see her frosty expression... She didn't seriously think he cheated, did she? He would rather be a total loser scoring zeroes than stoop to cheating!
