Mom, Don't Cry! Here comes a new Daddy! novel Chapter 108

Chapter 101-T

(Ethan’s POV)

I storm out of the hospital like a man possessed.

My hands are shaking. My jaw is clenched so tight it aches. Every muscle in my body is wound taut with rage and hurt and something that feels dangerously close to heartbreak.

Dustin’s words echo in my head: “Please give me another chance. Let me give Jake the father he deserves. You wouldn’t want him to grow up in a broken family, would you?”

And Sabrina’s face. That hesitation. That conflict.

She didn’t say no immediately. Didn’t shut him down. Didn’t tell him to go to hell like he deserved.

She hesitated.

Which means she’s considering it. Considering giving that cheating bastard another chance after everything he put her through.

I’m furious, but I can’t even bring myself to be mad at her.

Because Jake…if he wants his biological father back in his life…I won’t get his way.

My phone is already at my ear before I reach the parking lot, my call to Marcus-the investigator I

stationed at the DNA testing center-connecting immediately.

“Mr. Hale. I have news.”

“Talk.” My voice comes out harder than intended.

“I got the video evidence of Ms. Windle bribing the staff at the testing center.” He pauses. “As you commended, I also have the DNA test results.”

“Good. Bring all the evidence to Hale Mansion. Now.”

“On my way, sir.”

I hang up and pull up Giselle’s contact. My fingers fly across the screen, typing out a message with barely

contained fury.

Get to Hale Mansion immediately. Bring Emma.

Then I’m climbing into my car, barking at my driver to take me home. The Hale family estate.

As the car pulls away from the hospital, I can’t stop myself from looking back. At the building where Sabrina is probably still standing at Dustin’s bedside. Where Jake is probably begging her to give his father another chance. Where my entire future is hanging in the balance and I’m not even there to fight for it.

Because what could I say? What argument could I make that would compete with Dustin’s grand sacrifice?

He took a knife for her. Literally threw his body between her and danger. Nearly died protecting her.

How do I compete with that?

By leaving, a voice in my head whispers. By walking away and letting her make the choice without pressure.

But another voice-louder, more desperate-screams that leaving was the stupidest thing I could have done. That I should have stayed. Should have reminded her of what we have. Should have fought for us instead of assuming I’d already lost.

I want to fight. For her and Jake.

But with what right?

The car passes through the gates of the Hale estate. Manicured lawns. Marble fountains. Wealth on full display. Too bad there’s no warmth to be found.

The car stops in front of the main entrance. I’m out before my driver can open the door, my strides long and purposeful as I enter the mansion.

Voices drift from the living room. My father’s deep rumble. A child’s laugh. Giselle’s softer tones.

I pause at the doorway, taking in the scene.

Stephen Hale-my father, the man who built Hale Global from the ground up-is on the floor. Playing with Emma. Building what looks like a tower out of wooden blocks while the little girl claps and giggles.

Giselle watches from the couch, her expression soft. /Maternal. Like she’s watching a heartwarming family moment instead of manipulating an old man.

The sight makes my blood boil.
