Mom, Don't Cry! Here comes a new Daddy! novel Chapter 88

Chapter 88-1

(Jessica’s POV)

“That’s kidnapping. If we pull this stunt again, we’ll end up in prison for stre

I roll my eyes. Well duhh! Someone slow-much? “Only if we get caught. And this time, we’ll be smarter. We’ll use burner phones. Hire different people. Make sure there’s no trail back to us.” I grip her arm Think about it, Freya. Sabrina Moore destroyed your career. Got you arrested. Made Ethan hate you. Don’t you want to make her pay?”

She hesitates. And I can see the war in her eyes-the part of her that recalls her father’s earlier warning and the part that wants revenge so badly it hurts.

“My father will kill me if I get caught.”

“Then we don’t get caught.” I squeeze harder. “But if you want to sit back and let Sabrina Moore win. If you want to let her keep Ethan and her perfect life while you rot in obscurity with a criminal record-you’re welcome to walk away and be the bigger person.”

I release her arm and start walking toward the street, counting steps in my head.

One, Two, Three.

“Wait.”

I stop. Turn around. Try not to smile.

Freya’s face is set with determination. “What exactly did you have in mind?”

And there it is. The naivety I’ve been counting on.

Freya Devin-brilliant businesswoman, strategic thinker, a daughter who’s lived a sheltered life under her wealthy father’s protection.

She has no idea how scary the real world is. How easy it is to manipulate someone who’s never had to fight dirty.

But she’s exactly the type of naive fool I need to achieve my goal.

And this time, she’s about to learn an unforgettable lesson on how the real world works.

“Here’s what we do,” I say, walking back to her. “We watch Jake’s schedule. And take him when Sabrina isn’t around. Nothing violent.”

“And then what?”

“Then we call her. Tell her to come alone if she wants her son safe and sound. Of course, we say that only to scare her. No harm done to the kid.” I put on my most sincere expression. “We’re not monsters, Freya. We don’t actually want to hurt a kid. We just want to make Sabrina Moore pay for the consequences of sending us to jail.”

It’s a lie, of course.

↑ absolutely want to hurt Jake. Want to terrorize him, to make Sabrina feel even a fraction of the pain she’s caused me.

But that’s not all I want. With the dismissal notice from Sterling & Co., it’s likely I won’t be working there anymore.

Since that’s the case, why not get a huge sum of money out of this and go back to New York? Ethan Hale seems quite taken with that kid.

Add in the cheap slut Sabrina Moore, and I’m sure he would be more than willing to ransom for their release.

But Freya doesn’t need to know that.

She just needs to help me put my plan into action.

As for Dustin…I’ll convince him to shift over to New York once I leave safely.

“Fine. I’ll listen to you. But Jess…you better make sure the plan works this time, or we’re done.”

“No problem.”

Fool. She thinks she’s in a position to negotiate with me? If it wasn’t for the fact that I still have a use for her father…

I would’ve already discarded her.

(Sabrina’s POV)

I stumble into my house in a daze.

My keys clatter onto the entryway table. My purse slides off my shoulder and hits the floor. I don’t pick it
