Chapter 88-2
But the images keep coming anyway. Plashing behind my eyelids like a horror movie I can’t turn off.
Sure, I’ve always known Jessica wasn’t a saint.
But I never expected her to be so vile and twisted. Being a woman herself, how could she even think of subjecting such a nightmare to another woman? Not to mention, evert recording it?
What is her heart made of?
Didn’t it tremble when she set out to carry such vile deeds?

Not just assault. But record and document it, turn it into some twisted form of entertainment for the whole world to see?
I don’t feel anger anymore.
Anger is too small. Too insufficient to match the burning emotion in my heart.
No, anger isn’t even close to describe what I feel for her anymore.
Murderous. Yes, murderous is a close fit for what I’m feeling right now.
Thank god she isn’t in front of me. I don’t know what I would’ve done to her otherwise.
I still have Jake to consider. I want to raise well, and see him grown into a man. I can’t afford to go to jail
for murder.
But Dustin…if that bastard appears in front of me, I swear, I’ll make him pay for bringing that monster into
our lives.
I force my legs to move, heading upstairs to the master bedroom. My clothes feel contaminated. Like those men’s hands left invisible prints even though they never touched me.
I need them off. Now.
The bathroom is still steamy from this morning’s shower-was that only this morning? It feels like weeks
ago.
I strip mechanically, dropping my clothes in a pile on the floor. I’ll burn them later. Or throw them away. I never want to see them again.
The shower is scalding. Hot enough to burn, to turn my skin pink.
I stand under the spray and scrub. And scrub. And scrub until my skin is raw and my muscles ache and the water starts running cold.
But I still don’t feel clean.
When I finally step out, I’m shaking. Not from the cold. From something deeper that starts in my bones and radiates outward until my teeth are chattering and my hands can’t grip the towel properly.

Chapter B
Trauma. That’s what this is. Delayed shock catching up to what my mind protected me from feeling in the
moment
I got to talk to someone to get this off my chest To seek comfort and reassurance that the worst is over. That nothing worse will happen to me.
But who?
Ethan’s name flashes through my mind first.
But I shake my head. He’s a man. A good man, a protective man, the same one thanks to whom I’m still here, alive and in one piece, right now.
Still, a man who wouldn’t understand what it feels like for a woman to go through that kind of experience.
And Sophia…
She’ll go ballistic if she finds out what Jessica did.
I can already see her storming into Sterling & Co. kicking up a storm as she drags Jessica by the hair, exposing all her dirty laundries to the public.
And that’s not even the worst of it.
She’ll go after Freya too. Track down her family. Her connections. Make enemies of people with power and
resources.
As a woman well known for being iron hearted and cold-blooded, she would leave no stone unturned to make sure they face legal actions and have their names scorned by the media and the public.
It’s one of the things I love about her. That fierce loyalty and refusal to let anyone hurt the people she
cares about.
But it’s also a dangerous trait that could end up harming her one day.
Because Freya isn’t just some random assistant. If she was involved in this-and she had to be, seeing. how Jessica named her as an accomplice in crime-then her family will get involved too.
Not just any random nobody becomes a secretary to Ethan Hale…unless they have the background to
support it.
