Chapter 20 It’d Be a Piece of Cake to Ruin You
Honestly, Matthew just didn’t want to let go of Adriana before the wedding.
Maybe it had something to do with how into her body was.
Natasha looked over at Matthew and forced a small smile. “Okay…”
She clenched her hands, pretending she didn’t see through his excuse to stall. But deep down, she was already nervous.
No… I can’t let Adriana stay in the picture any longer.
Nera Club.
Adriana showed up right at the time Natasha had given her.
Sure enough, Natasha was already waiting.
Nera Club belonged to the Joneses. It was super exclusive–only people with a net worth of over ten million dollars could even get a membership card.
They had everything–golf courses, massages, hot springs, even a hotel.
“Anna,” Natasha said sweetly, greeting her with a smile. A white bandage was wrapped around her forehead.
Adriana gave her a cold look. She didn’t see Natasha as sweet or gentle anymore.
“Ms. Jones, let’s not waste time,” Adriana said flatly. “You used your influence to take the study abroad placement that should’ve gone to me and gave it to your cousin. I’m just standing up for what’s mine. I don’t think I’m wrong, so why go after the orphanage I grew up in?”
Natasha’s eyes narrowed.
Adriana was sharp–but so was she. Natasha gave her a quick look. “You’re not recording our conversation, are you?”
Adriana calmly placed her phone on the table. “Even if were, I doubt you’d let me walk out of here with the evidence, right?”
Natasha smiled.
Of course not. She wouldn’t make that kind of mistake.
She didn’t care whether or not Adriana was recording. Because once she left, security would check everything and wipe her phone clean.
“Ms. Xander, since you’re being so upfront, I’ll be too. That study abroad placement? I’m not giving it back. But I’ll offer you money. You can apply to other places even find your own trip overseas. I’ll cover your tuition and all your living expenses.” Natasha slid a check across the table.
Adriana didn’t respond. Natasha added, “I want you out of Haldoria. For good.”
“That’s it?” Adriana stared straight at her. “Okay, then. I’ll be just as blunt. I earned that placement with my grades. I’m not giving it up.”
