Chapter 380 You Set Me Up
In this design competition, Adriana was, without a doubt, the ultimate winner.
Ronan watched everything with a smile. At this point, he didn’t need to say anything else. As the CEO of Ainsworth Group, he was, of course, on Adriana’s side.
He recorded a video of the event and sent it to Curtis, since Curtis was the one most concerned about Adriana and everything going on.
“Adriana, you set me up.” Danielle snapped. She couldn’t explain herself, so she could only lash out in frustration.
“Danielle, let’s go. We are leaving.” Chandler spoke in a low voice, telling Danielle to hurry up and leave before she embarrassed herself any further. With so many insiders and reporters watching, they should head back and plan their next move.
“You’re leaving already? Do you really think I’m that easy to deal with?” Adriana smiled and looked towar the door.
The police came in, ready to take Danielle away. “Ms. Danielle, you are suspected of plagiarizing another designer’s work and stealing their original drafts. Please come with us and cooperate with the investigation.”
Only then did real panic truly hit Danielle. She hadn’t expected Adriana to call the police.
If she got arrested and found guilty of plagiarism, even if she didn’t end up with a criminal record, her reputation would be completely ruined.
Danielle looked at Justin in a panic. “Justin… Justin, help me.”
After all, it was Justin who helped her get the original draft. She and Justin were in this together.
Justin had just been watching from the sidelines, but now he finally stood up, looked at Adriana, and spoke calmly. “It’s a misunderstanding.”
Adriana narrowed her eyes at Justin.
Everyone stared at Justin, wondering how he was going to defend Danielle.
“Danielle’s design was submitted by her assistant. There must have been a mix–up. Her assistant sent in the wrong draft.” Justin looked at Adriana and spoke in an even tone.
Even though he seemed calm, anyone with half a brain could tell that Justin and Adriana were drifting apart.
As soon as one crisis ended, another started.
Justin was the backbone of Barton Group. As long as Justin was around, the board members felt at ease. Now, with Justin splitting from Adriana, this was exactly what they didn’t want to see.
“I sent that draft to Danielle because I wanted her opinion on it.” Justin smiled at Adriana. “You have so many design pieces. I never thought you’d use that one for the competition.”
This kind of trashy statement was totally out of character for Justin, but he said it anyway.
Adriana froze for a moment, then looked at the Barton Group’s board members nearby, all of them in shock.
