“Jeremy, you don’t understand–Grandpa is just like this. If you don’t push back, he won’t get it,” Curtis protested.

As Jeremy dragged Curtis to apologize to Harold, Danielle finally lost her patience. She slammed her utensils onto the table, making Adriana flinch in surprise.

“Don’t think he’s doing all this for you–he’s doing this for Cynthia. You’re just caught in the middle,” Danielle warned Adriana through gritted teeth.

Adriana didn’t respond. She quietly rested her wrist on the table, gently wiping the emerald bracelet with a napkin.

That single action drove Danielle into a frenzy.
