Chapter 83 Do You Recognize Her?
Adriana took a deep breath, holding back her laughter until her cheeks ached.
Finally, the car fell silent. Curtis slowly closed his eyes.
Adriana remained in Curtis’s arms. Even as he rested his eyes, he refused to let her move aside.
In that intimate position, Adriana quietly studied Curtis’s face up close.
This face is truly flawless…

Suddenly, Tom slammed on the brakes. Adriana, thrown forward by the motion, crashed back into Curtis, landing face–first in his arms. Her cheek brushed right up against his, like a kiss.
Curtis kept his eyes closed, but the corner of his mouth curved into a faint smile.
“Mr. Lincoln … we’ve arrived.”
The car stopped at the old downtown strip of Harbor Bay. The place was packed with food stalls, their signs all jumbled together, making the whole street look pretty chaotic.
Nicole stepped out and froze in place. “Curtis … what is this place? Why are there so many people?”
She complained, clearly expecting Curtis to take her to an upscale mall for luxury goods and jewelry. Instead, they’d ended up on a busy snack street, swarming with tourists.
“That dessert shop over there is authentic. The owner’s master came all the way from Govendale.” Curtis ignored Nicole completely, holding Adriana’s hand as he led her toward the dessert shop.
“This street is so bustling!” Adriana’s eyes sparkled as she took in the scene. It looked like something straight out of a movie. “I heard the rent here is insane. Even a tiny spot costs a fortune!”
Curtis smiled, looking at Adriana. “Half of this street belongs to you.”
Adriana’s mouth dropped open. She didn’t really get it.
“The whole strip belongs to the Lincolns. It’s joint property,” Curtis said casually, walking to the dessert shop with a long line and joining it patiently.
Today, the street was packed with locals and tourists alike.
Curtis was tall and handsome, so he quickly drew attention, Young women were sneaking photos of him with their phones.
Adriana lingered for a moment before taking a deep breath and following him in line.
Even a billionaire has to wait in line, it seems.
Meanwhile, Nicole reluctantly queued, jealousy flashing in her eyes.
If I had joined the Lincolns sooner, I’d be the one marrying Curtis! Half the street could have been mine!

This was Harborton’s historic district. Though it looked a bit rundown, the rent wasn’t cheap–it was one of the city’s prime commercial areas.
This entire block of shops had long been the Lincolns‘ property, purchased by Harold in his younger days.
Even if the Lincolns went bankrupt, they wouldn’t starve. Just the rental income easily brought in over 100 million a year….
Thinking that this would eventually be hers, Nicole couldn’t help but feel superior. “Curtis, this whole street belongs to the Lincolns. Why are we waiting in line? Can’t we just go in and have the owner serve us
are, directly?”
Curtis glanced at Nicole indifferently, pointing to a nearby bank. “See that bank? It’s full of money. Why don’t you just go in and take it?”
Nicole was silenced, her face turning red.
Adriana pressed her lips together, fighting to keep from laughing.
Holding back laughter is real torture…
Finally, it was their turn. Curtis went to buy the dessert balls while Adriana and Nicole waited nearby.
“You won’t be happy for long. I’ve heard Curtis married you only because I wasn’t back yet,” Nicole provoked, staring at Adriana. “Now that I’m here, sooner or later, you’ll have to step aside for me.”
Adriana ignored Nicole. It was best not to provoke a high–maintenance girl like her.
“I’m also studying in Haldoria. Grandpa said that after I return, I’ll live in Curtis’s house,” Nicole reminded Adriana proudly. “The reason Harold hasn’t kicked you out yet is that you were lucky enough to be pregnant with the Lincolns‘ child. He won’t let the child be born out of wedlock. So as soon as you give birth, you’ll be kicked out.”
Adriana looked down at her stomach, thinking she probably wasn’t pregnant yet.
If Harold found out she wasn’t, he’d kick her out immediately.
A small selfish thought crossed her mind. For some reason, she didn’t want to leave Curtis just yet….
