Chapter 89 Move on So Quickly
Adriana lowered her gaze, feeling a slight tightness in her chest, but still nodded.
After all, she was a contract wife.

“Second, as a contract wife, you need to keep the boss happy. You have to provide emotional value, or you’ll lose your job.” Kenneth sounded genuinely worried for Adriana. “You’re too obedient. Mr. Lincoln doesn’t like that. You need to take the initiative and satisfy him. Look at those minor celebrities–they know exactly how it’s done.”
Adriana stared at Kenneth, totally lost.
Kenneth rubbed his forehead. “I haven’t served anyone like this before either … Fine. Tomorrow I’ll introduce you to a friend. She’s a minor celebrity, a sugar baby for a big shot. She has a good reputation in these circles.”
Kenneth gave a thumbs–up. “Let her teach you how to make a man happy.”
Adriana’s eyes brightened as she listened attentively. “Alright, Mr. Heath, I’ll study hard!”
She was serious and eager–she couldn’t waste a contract worth 30 million a year.
“Why aren’t you upstairs yet?” Curtis, waiting inside, frowned. Adriana hadn’t come up to apologize or make amends, and he was annoyed.
When he saw Kenneth still lingering, chatting with Adriana, he was even more irritated.
“Mr. Lincoln, rest well,” Kenneth said before finally leaving.
Since Curtis had said he was bringing Adriana to Harborton for a week, Eva had the week off.
It was just Curtis and Adriana at home.
Remembering Kenneth’s advice, Adriana hurried upstairs to help Curtis undress. “Curtis … you should wash up and get some rest early.”
Curtis, seeing her nudging him toward the guest room, grew even angrier. “Why should I sleep in the guest room? You giving up already?”
Adriana realized her mistake. “I–I just didn’t want you to be tired. It’s already past midnight…”
“How thoughtful,” Curtis ground out through clenched teeth. “Funny how thoughtful you weren’t when you were selling me out.”
Curtis pinched her chin, scooped her up in one arm, and headed toward the bathroom.
He’d planned to let her off easy tonight, but now? No way she was getting any sleep.
Adriana didn’t understand how she’d offended Curtis. He dragged her into the bathroom, then back to bed, tormenting her until dawn. Her voice was hoarse from crying, and she still didn’t get what she’d done
wrong.

Curtis kept asking if she understood her mistake.
Did I not satisfy him enough? Is it because I’m not skilled or experienced enough?
Tomorrow, I definitely have to meet Mr. Heath’s celebrity friend to learn some tips.

After all, being with Matthew had taught Adriana one thing clearly: Men think with their lower body.
“Curtis … please … stop … “Adriana’s voice was hoarse as she pleaded.

But Curtis made it clear that she wouldn’t sleep tonight.
Adriana had realized by now that Curtis was the classic proud and stubborn type. Pleading worked, but threats didn’t.
Finally pushed to her limit, she cried out, “Curtis … ”
Curtis paused; and Adriana thought her act of affection had worked, but he just got rougher. “What should you call me?”
“Mr. Lincoln…”
“No.”
“Mr. Curtis…”
“Call me something else. Once I’m satisfied, I’ll let you go.” Curtis’s voice was hoarse as he kissed the tears from her eyes.
Adriana looked at him, bewildered. “Curtis…
“Mr. Curtis …
“Curt…”

Nothing felt right.
Crying, Adriana clung to Curtis.
She didn’t understand why Belinda said Curtis wasn’t interested in women, or why Cynthia was so confident he wouldn’t touch her …
Her head was spinning; she didn’t even know if she’d fallen asleep or passed out.
Curtis seemed to be doing it on purpose, going at it over and over again. She wasn’t sure whether he was really trying to get her pregnant quickly, or if it was because of his own desires.
You really can’t judge a man by the way he dresses. He’s a gentleman in a suit, but when he’s not wearing one, he’s a completely different species.
The next day, Adriana woke at noon.
