My chest tightened as if an invisible hand was squeezing my lungs. My head spun so fast that the faces in front of me refused to stay steady.
This isn’t right. Something was wrong.
I was completely fine until Mary gave me… the drink.
Tears pricked the corner of my eyes as I shook my head, refusing to believe she’d do something like that.
No. No. No. This can’t be happening.
I stumbled backward the moment one of the boys slammed the door shut. My heart pounded so hard I thought it might crack my ribs. I pressed my trembling hands against my chest, trying to hold myself together.
“P-p-please… let me go,” I slurred.
The room felt suffocating. My skin burned from the inside out, and I wanted to claw my way out. To tear off the heat that was crawling under my skin. If I weren’t terrified of the piercing gazes on me, I’d rip my dress apart just to breathe.
“I need to talk to Mary,” I mumbled, and they burst into a fit of laughter.
“She wants to talk to Mary,” one of them mocked, grinning. “No one is coming to save you, darling. It’s just us now.”
I staggered towards what looked like the window when a hand caught my arms.
“Playing hard to get now, huh?” He snickered. “You look eager enough in that dress.”
The room spun faster. I clutched at the nearest thing I could find as sweat trickled down my back.
“I… this is…” my throat burned before I could even finish.
“That is what I thought.”
A firm grip dragged me forward until I collided with their chest. Did you see that? I hadn’t even touched you and you’re already begging for it.”
The sound of their laughter echoed through the room and before I could stop them, my body bounced against the sofa.
“Do you know how long I have been waiting to do this?” Their voices blurred together, and even though I knew they were close, it sounded so distant.
My thigh ached from how hard they were clasped together despite the throbbing desire burning between my walls.
“Spread your legs like the little whore that you are, and I’d make you feel good. I promise.”
The others chuckled from behind, as one of them lunged forwa I shuddered as his hands fell on my lap, yanking them apart forcefully.
“P-p-please…” I rasped.
I wrapped my sweaty palms across my neck, swallowing hard to wet my dry throat, but nothing seemed to be working.
“She’s so needy,” I heard one of them grunt. A body crawled on mine and I fought weakly to push them off.

My body itched from each stroke he gave me and even though I had never been so turned on, the scent of him was enough to make me puke.
Bile rushed to my throat as his hands grasped my boobs and hot tears slipped down my cheeks. I shouldn’t have listened to Mary. I should have known that she was up to something. She had never acknowledged me in the past, and I was stupid enough to believe she was honest.
“How pathetic,” a voice said in my head.
This was all a game to them. I was just another bet they couldn’t lose, and like the attention starved kid that I was, I fell for it.
My body felt numb. I was pretty much aware of everything that was going on; the sinister smile on their faces as they ripped my dress off. The excitement that lit their eyes as they scanned my body hungrily; it made me sick to my stomach.
“That’s it,” one of them cooed. “Remain put and we wouldn’t have to force ourselves in,” he grinned.
He undid his zip and a tear slipped down my cheeks. He bent down, leaning so close that my skin crawled from his breath. He brushed his cheeks against mine, stroking himself. I snapped my eyes shut, waiting for my biggest nightmare to happen before my eyes when the door broke down with a thud.
I didn’t miss the annoyance that glinted in his eyes as he turned to see the source of the noise. My head tilted towards the door and Kael stood there, jaw clenched. A vein popped on his face, muscles clenched as he strode in, and when his eyes met mine, my stomach twitched.
Disgust twisted his features. Not at me, but at them. If I didn’t know better. I’d think the sight of me like this fueled his
anger…
“What are the fuck-”
He lunged, grabbing the boy by his collar, before slamming him against the wall. Two others rushed him from behind, but he barely flinched.
His eyes were drained of all emotions and watching him go feral sent chills down my spine.
A part of me felt relieved that he saved me, again, but the stoic look in his eyes tells a different story.
The drug in my body was starting to wear off. I watched as Kael pinned the boy down with his body as he punched his face over and over again.
The sound of Kael’s fist connecting with the boy’s face filled the room. Blood gushed out of his busted nose, but he was engrossed in teaching him a lesson that he didn’t notice one of the boys sneaking in on him.
The other two attacked him at once, trying to get him off the last one, but they didn’t stand a chance against him.
“Who the fuck said you could touch her?” He cussed under his breath, landing another heavy bunch on his face.
My eyes widened as one of them snuck out a blade from his pars. I jumped up, placing myself in between without a second thought, when a strong arm pushed me off, my head slammed against the bed frame and a scream tore out of my throat.
Kael turned at the sound of my scream, his eyes flickered with a semblance of concern. I must be imagining it. I hit my head
hard.
He hesitated for a while, letting down his guard, and one of the boys took the moment to stab him with a silver blade.
He winced from the sharp pain and they took the opportunity to run off, dragging the bruised boy out as they fled.
My head throbbed from the fall, but watching Kael soaked in his blood sent a cold chill down my spine.

I crawled up to him, my gaze blurry, when a figure strode in, panting.

“Fuck!” Travis cursed under his breath as he helped Kael get up. He drove us home in his car, and thankfully, he had contacted the pack’s healer before we got there.
Kael was half unconscious by the time we arrived. Travis took him into his room with the help of the healer, and watching him grunt in pain, made my chest burn.
He wouldn’t have gotten hurt if I weren’t stupid enough to believe someone above my status would be willing to be my friend.
He was in that state because of me, and even after the healer assured me that he’d be fine, I couldn’t stop blaming myself.
The healer treated my wounds, and thankfully, the drug they spiked in my drink was only effective for thirty minutes.
“I wish I could stay here but I need to head home now,” Travis said, as he took his leave.
I soaked a towel to clean his body and compare his pulse with mine every second to ensure he was fine. I sat next to him, studying his features and I couldn’t help the tug that crawled in my chest.
The disgust look in his eyes earlier flashed before my eyes and my breath hitched. He hated me, yet he saved me.
I stared at his handsome face, taking advantage of his situation to trace my hands on his jawline, memorizing his perfect face.
I lay beside him, watching the way his chest rose and fell softly before my eyes became heavy.
I stirred in my sleep and instead of feeling the soft mattress against my hands, my hands met with something hard.
I pressed onto it, wondering what it was when I opened my eyes slowly. My gaze met with Kael’s sharp own, jolting me away.
He was awake, and the way he looked at me made my heart forget how to beat.
