Sandra's words stunned everyone. Not just Hannah and Samuel, but Lionel Rosenberg himself.
Lionel stood frozen for several seconds before her accusation finally registered. He whipped his head around to face Sandra, his expression one of pure disbelief.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Sandra, have you lost your mind? Have you forgotten who it was that came to that cell to rescue you today? You're the one who told me where the key was, who told me the key to your shackles was on the same ring as the door key. I'm the one who unlocked you!"
"And you were the one who begged me to carry you out, saying you were too injured to walk. I carried you to the car, and on the way back, I called to have someone notify Hannah. Then I took you home and had a doctor come treat you!"
"Later, when my assistant told me Hannah wouldn't come, I said we would go to her. You were the one who pleaded with me, saying you were too hurt to see her right now. Have you forgotten all of that?"
Lionel laid out every detail of what had happened that day.
He turned abruptly to Hannah, pointing an accusing finger at Sandra.
"Hannah, don't listen to her lies! The person who kidnapped her was Quennel, not me! I figured out where she was being held based on an anonymous email Quennel sent, and I went to save her!"
"I'm the one who got her out! And there are security cameras at the Rosenberg property. I'll have someone pull the footage for you right now."
"Quennel has been visiting that place for a while. The cameras would have caught everything."
As Lionel spoke, he was trembling uncontrollably.
