Yvaine looked at Marcus and Albina, her expression steeped in awkwardness. "Mr. and Mrs. Lowell, I'm already married."

Marcus and Albina froze.

It took them a moment to process her words.

After a few seconds, Albina asked, "You got your marriage certificate?"

When did this happen?

How could Zachary have done something this huge—quietly going off to get a marriage license—without telling them?

"Well, what's done is done," Albina said with a warm smile. "There's no rush for the wedding ceremony. We can take our time planning it."

Zachary let out a dark chuckle but remained silent.

Yvaine looked even more uncomfortable, yet she pushed forward. "Mrs. Lowell... I didn't marry Zachary. I..."

The mocking smile vanished from Zachary's face. He glared at Yvaine, his expression icing over with an undeniable threat.

"Yvaine, you better think carefully before you speak!"

He locked his eyes on her.

She had to know the catastrophic fallout of letting his parents find out she was married to Silas Sheridan.

He could overlook the fact that she was married.

"Yvaine!" Zachary roared, suddenly jumping to his feet.

He tried to drown out her words with sheer volume and rage.

They stared at Yvaine in pure disbelief.

"Yvaine... what are you talking about?"
