I smiled as Humphrey finally crushed Alpha. His smile was contagious, lighting up the room with joy and celebration.
Helen looked happy, smiling.
She wasn’t showing yet, but I could tell the difference already. She was fatter. It was not very noticeable, but anyone who knew her or was close enough to see it could easily tell.
“Congratulations, brother.” I shook Humphrey’s hand.
“Congratulations to you too, my new beta.” He grinned wide.
He was more excited about me accepting to be his beta than his wedding.
“Yeah, yeah.” I said with a sigh.
Just then, Helen made her way towards me, pulling me into a hug.
“Congratulations, my love.”
“Congratulations to you too.”
Later in the evening, I was at the park border.
“How is Cassie doing?” I asked Landen, my brother and friend since we were kids.
His parents were in the same clan as mine. Rogues.
Rogues without wolves….
“Good. She is off to college in a week. She is very upset that you are not coming to see her off.”
I ran my hands through my hair.

Chapter 230
“She knows why.”
“Because she cheated. Yes, I know that.” Landen said, “But you have to forgive her sooner or later.”
“Yeah. Just give her this.” I handed him a box.
“It’s a gift for her. I have to be here for a while. I am beta now. I can’t leave, and I don’t want to.”
Landen nodded.
“Good luck, brother; just be careful.”
“I’ll try.” I smiled before waving him goodbye.
Present day
“I haven’t seen her.” Rita said through the phone,
“Then find her. You’re an assassin; act like it.”
“I have tried asking Tony, but he isn’t available. He’s avoiding me.”
“Rita, don’t make me come up there myself. She can’t just disappear into thin air.”
“I know. I’m on it. I’ll get the information today.”
“Good.” I murmured before hanging up.
I couldn’t believe I had lost Fiona and the recording in one day. This was absolutely ridiculous.
I made my way out of the bar.
Max intercepted me on the way to the door.
“I may have found a lead to who hired Liliana’s kidnappers.”
“Who?” I asked.
“His name is Glen.”
“What have you found out?” I asked, walking out of the bar to a more quiet place in the parking lot.
He was being unusually nice.

Chapter 230
:
For the last couple of days, he had blamed me for what happened to Liliana, and of course I didn’t blame him.
I blamed myself too.
That’s why I was trying to make things right.
That’s why I was going to end it with Cassandra today.
