Chapter 236
CHAPTER 146
LILIANA’S POV
Over the next few days, I didn’t catch even a glimpse of Cassandra, and I later found out why.
It seems what I said had rattled her more than she showed. Cain informed me she travelled the northern region to visit her father, and from my calculations, it was the next day after I confronted her.
“It’s time.” Gerald told me one evening, walking up to me as I sat in the dining room.
I looked at him quizzically, not at all following him.
“Time for what?” I asked him.
“To go reclaim your pack. I was delaying so I could look for the recording, but it’s not turning up. So I’m resorting to plan B.”
“And what’s plan B?” I asked, silently praying it didn’t involve a battle.
He looked me straight in the eye. “You take back by force. We will work with the element of surprise, going under cover of night.”
My heart sank. I wished I didn’t have to fight, but at this point that was the only way I could take my place. Even though fighting was what I wanted to do all this while, I had been secretly hoping something as simple as a recording would help prove my innocence, but since it has gone missing, there is no other choice.
“Are you coming along?” I asked him, but he shook his head.
“I’m the alpha of this territory, and it won’t look alright to the outside world if I go to battle with a region I had good relations with, so no… It has to be you, Liliana. You have to be the one to claim it all back so no one will be in. Doubt about your capabilities as an alpha.”
“If I do succeed, after everything, what else? I wouldn’t have still cleared my name. I would be the only Alpha in history who was known to murder her father and organize a coup d’état to overthrow her stepbrother.” I said.
He stepped forward and held my head in his hands, placing a soft kiss on my forehead.
“It’s going to be okay… Trust me. Get this over with first. I will be with you every step of the way.” Gerald reassured me.
I allowed myself to be comforted, reveling in his sweet male scent. It’s been a while since I allowed him to hold me like this.
Suddenly, I remembered the child we had both lost, and my abdomen throbbed painfully. I stepped back gently from him, putting some space between us.

Chapter 236
I saw the pain written on his face. I wanted to move forward again and hold him, comforting him instead, but I stubbornly ignored the
ache.
“When do I leave?” I forced my voice to be steady.
“Tonight. We can’t afford to waste any more time,” he informed me.
He made a signal with his hand, and some men stepped out, fifty of them in total.
“These are some of my best fighters. You don’t need to fight the entire pack. It’s a sneak attack, so all you need to target is your stepbrother and his elite guards. Once you successfully subdue those, it should be okay.”
We spoke some more till it was dark.
Gerald stood up and moved back as a black SUV drove up and parked beside us. Others soon lined up behind it till they totaled thirty or
“Thank you for everything.” I whispered.
He nodded and let me go, walking back towards the main building.
