My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 925

Emily shot her a playful grin. “Say one more word and I really will smack you.”

Elizabeth snorted in response.

As they reached the door, Emily let go of Tristan’s hand to fish out her keys.

She glanced back at Elizabeth. “I haven’t even asked yet—why’d you come over?”

Elizabeth leaned against the wall, arching an eyebrow. “I sent Tristan a video, and he never replied. Figured I’d swing by and see what was up. Didn’t expect to walk in on you two.”

Emily huffed, pushing open the door. “So, are you heading home, or do you want to stay for a bit?”

Elizabeth lifted her chin. “You two just got together, and I have a million questions. Of course I’m staying.”

“Alright then,” Emily nodded, then turned to Tristan. “What about you?”

Normally, Tristan would have come in to sit and chat before leaving.

But things were different now. He and Emily had just started dating, and Emily’s mom, Emma, was still inside. The shift in his status made it suddenly nerve-wracking to face his future mother-in-law.

He also wanted to show Emily enough respect—not cross any boundaries now that their relationship had changed.

Tristan smiled at Emily and stepped closer to her.

Their faces drew near, gazes locked, and the chemistry between them was so palpable that even Elizabeth, standing off to the side, could feel it.

Elizabeth’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Hey, hey, hey! I’m still here, you know! What are you two up to?”

Tristan looked a little helpless at her interruption.

Without missing a beat, Emily reached out, expertly covering Elizabeth’s eyes before rising on tiptoe to plant a quick kiss on Tristan’s lips.

“I want to see! Let me see!” Elizabeth protested, prying Emily’s hand away. “Hey! Why are you covering my eyes?”

Elizabeth stared at Emily’s mouth, then at Tristan’s, clicking her tongue in exaggerated disbelief. “Wow, you two went all out. Both your lips are busted up—look, there’s even a bit of blood! What were you doing while I wasn’t looking?”

Tristan coughed into his fist, looking embarrassed.

Elizabeth immediately zeroed in on him. “Why are you coughing? Got something to hide?”

Emily whacked Elizabeth on the back of the head. “What kind of nonsense are you imagining?”

Elizabeth rubbed her head and protested, “What? I’m not wrong, am I? Your lips are all banged up—both of you. How are you going to show your faces tomorrow?”

“None of your business!” Emily snapped, grabbing Elizabeth by the collar and dragging her inside.

She poked her head back out and waved at Tristan. “Go home, I’ll handle Elizabeth.”

With that, she shut the door and shoved Elizabeth straight into the living room.
