My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 353

Jabco’s chest tightened. He leaned back slightly, giving her space, but his eyes never left her.

“We’ll get you there as fast as possible,” he said.

“I told you,” Riyana replied without looking at him. “You don’t need to...”

“I know,” he interrupted gently. “I’m not saying it for control. I’m saying it because I mean it.”

That made her quiet.

The car stopped at the private terminal. Cristo was already there, waiting.

“Tickets are ready,” Cristo said immediately. “Flight leaves in forty minutes.”

Riyana looked at him, stunned despite herself.

She didn’t say thank you.

She just walked inside.

As they moved through the terminal, Jabco stayed behind her again, watching carefully. The guards spread out around them, subtle but firm.

At the security gate, Riyana suddenly stopped.

“This is too much,” she said, turning around. “I’m not some criminal.”

Jabco stepped forward. “I know. And I’m not treating you like one.”

“Then stop acting like I can’t do anything without your permission.”

His expression hardened for a moment, then softened again.

“This isn’t about permission,” he said quietly. “It’s about you not being alone.”

She laughed bitterly. “You’ve never cared about that before.”

Jabco didn’t respond right away.

“i always did, it was just you never seen,” he said finally.

She looked at him then, really looked at him. As if trying to figure out when that change happened. Or if it was even real.

Before she could say anything else, Cristo cleared his throat.

“We should board now.”

Riyana turned away and walked ahead but

She stepped seeing him still following

She turned. “You said you weren’t coming.”

“I’m not,” he replied.

For a second, she didn’t know what to say.

He leaned closer, lowering his voice so only she could hear.

“Call me the moment you land,” he said. “No arguments.”

She hesitated, then nodded once.

As she walk to plane Jabco stepped back, he watched her.

His jaw tightened.

He had let her go.

And it was taking everything in him not to follow right now.

Here’s a clean rewrite with better flow, simple words, and natural emotions. Same scene, just clearer and tighter.

After landing, Riyana went straight to the hospital.

“Mum.”

Her mother was still standing outside the waiting area. The moment she saw Riyana, she broke down.

“Riyana…” Her mother pulled her into a tight hug and cried openly.

“I’m here, Mum. I’m here,” Riyana said softly, holding her and trying to calm her down.

“How is he?” Riyana asked.

“I don’t know.” Her mother shook her head, tears falling nonstop. “They haven’t told me anything yet. He’s been in surgery for two hours.”

“He’ll be fine, Mum. Don’t worry,” Riyana said, even though her own heart was racing with fear.

She looked over at Cristo, who was standing a little distance away, and signaled him to go find out more information. Cristo nodded and was about to move when he suddenly stopped.

Police officers were approaching.

Three of them walked over.

“Mrs. Glito,” one officer called.

Riyana’s mother looked up, confused and shaken.
