Chapter 6 The Long-Lost Happiness
“Yes,” I said.
I didn’t try to hide it.
Edward was silent. He mistakenly thought that I was still into Finn.
I let the silence hang for a second, then kept going.
“I need enough evidence to put Grace away. And I’m divorcing Finn. Edward, can you come get me?”
My explanation cheered him up.
He didn’t even let me finish and said, “I already tracked you to Riverside Hospital. I’m on my way.”
After a pause, I said, “Oh, I want you to prepare the divorce papers for me.”
True to his word, Edward moved fast. Within hours, I was settled in a private hospital, one of the Scott family’s properties with top tier security and complete privacy.
I went through the discharge procedures on my own. Sadly, Finn had never shown up.
Surely, he would camp out at Grace’s bedside, holding her hand and telling her everything would be okay.

The food tasted like nothing from any restaurant. The flavor was unique and impressive.
But after graduation, I never tasted the same flavor again.
After I married Finn, I asked him to buy me those breakfasts again for old times’ sake.
However, Finn always made excuses to brush me off. Eventually, I just forgot it.
“Where did you get the food?” I asked.
The taste hit me the second I took a bite. I was so content that I closed my eyes.
Edwand stammered, “I grabbed them from an ordinary food store downstairs.”
For some reason, he was a little nervous.
My appetite turned large, and I cleared everything on the table.
When I looked up, Edward was sitting on that chair, his chin in his hands, watching me with a tender smile.
