My Love Burns for Anyone Worth It novel Chapter 6

**Chapter 6**

Tessa’s voice cut through the tension like a knife, pulling Sebastian and Ronald back from the brink of their fury. They halted abruptly, casting one last menacing glare at the bruised thug sprawled on the ground. “You better apologize to Tessa, or the next time we see you, it’ll be a whole lot worse!” they warned, their voices laced with a fierce protectiveness.

The thug, now shaken and aware of his precarious situation, scrambled to his feet, his bravado evaporating like mist in the morning sun. With a quivering voice, he mumbled an apology that barely escaped his lips. Only after being told to beat it did he scurry away, his footsteps echoing in the silence he left behind.

As the tension dissipated, Sebastian and Ronald turned their attention to Tessa, a swirling mix of fear and anger reflected in their eyes. They wanted to admonish her for putting herself in such danger, but the thought of her getting hurt silenced their reprimands. All they could manage was a heavy sigh. “Why on earth are you working in a place like this?” Ronald finally asked, concern creeping into his tone.

Tessa lowered her head, her voice barely a whisper. “I haven’t saved enough for tuition…” she admitted, her words tinged with a hint of shame.

In unison, Sebastian and Ronald exclaimed, “We’ll pay for you!” Their voices rang out, filled with an urgency that stemmed from their family backgrounds. Why should she have to struggle when they could easily help her?

Without hesitation, they yanked the apron off her, their tone leaving no room for argument. “This place is a disaster. You’re not coming back here,” they declared, their resolve firm as they prepared to lead her out.

But just as they were about to leave, a realization struck them. They turned to find Bella had approached them at some point, her presence suddenly reminding them of how abruptly they had abandoned her. “Bella, don’t misunderstand. We’re all classmates, and we’ll be at the same college soon. We just don’t want her to go down the wrong path…” Ronald stammered, attempting to clarify their intentions.

“My life has nothing to do with you!” Bella shot back, her voice sharp and defensive.

Tessa flinched at the confrontation, her emotions boiling over. Tears welled in her eyes, and with a defiant stomp of her foot, she dashed out of the bar, leaving Sebastian and Ronald momentarily stunned. They exchanged a quick glance before sprinting after her, urgency propelling them forward.

Bella, feeling utterly disinterested in the unfolding drama, was about to call for a cab when a hand suddenly clamped over her mouth, muffling her startled gasp. Despite her frantic struggles, she was pulled into the restroom, the door slamming shut behind her with a finality that sent a chill down her spine.
