Ray raised both hands again.
“Those who submit to me, step quickly into my kingdom!”
This time, though some hesitated, most of the remaining people moved toward him. They had already accepted Ray as the Devil. Who dared disobey?
Disobedience meant death.
Obedience… maybe disappearing really did mean entering his world. If they behaved submissively, maybe the Devil would take notice, maybe even favor them.
Better than waiting to die, right?
With that thought, they stepped into the spatial portal and instantly became corpses.
At least it was painless.
Ray smiled. He had saved himself several bullets. Not bad–these fools were easy to “teach.”
But… four women still hadn’t stepped forward. They were trying to seduce him, hoping to partner with the Devil himself.
They didn’t see the point of submitting. They believed they could become the Devil’s women, bear his offspring, and their status would be far above the rest. After all, women were meant to make use of their looks and bodies, not their brains.
Ray frowned.
This would cost him four more bullets. He wasn’t interested in their games.
But he didn’t hesitate. He stepped forward. Just as the four women thought he’d “fallen under temptation,” four bullets shot out.
The distance was short. Each woman took a bullet to the forehead, leaving a neat blood–filled hole. Instant death.
Ray had no interest in them–not now, not ever. His tastes were already selective, and even if they weren’t, he still wouldn’t
have looked twice.
He pulled out a bed, a mattress, and bedding from his otherworldly storage space.
The ground bedding the others had used was unusable. He couldn’t lie there.
He had no shortage of supplies.
Sliding under the thick, luxurious blankets, with a large fire blazing nearby, Ray was perfectly insulated. Even in the extreme cold, he soon sweated under the heat, waking up in the middle of the night.
He had a nightmare surrounded by a horde of huge men and jolted awake.
Only to realize the weight of the blankets had crushed him like someone pressing down on his chest
Fine. He removed two of the blankets and went back to sleep.
This time, he slept soundly until past six in the morning
No rest after that. He pulled out the weapons he had collected and began firing
Two hours later, his otherworldly storage space was filled with an enormous pile of bullets–mostly heavy machine–gun rounds Time was limited, so Ray collected the most powerful ones.
Of course, there were also RPGs–handheld rocket launchers.

Stepping out of the garage, the icy wind hit him, sharpening his senses. The thick fog had also cleared.
Time to go home.
Ray drove back toward the residential complex, keeping an extremely slow pace, constantly scanning street signs. Navigation was useless now; everything depended on his own eyes.
As he drove, he pondered.
