Chapter 168
Ray could feel the changes coursing through his body.
After absorbing Brandon’s ability, he had undergone a comprehensive upgrade. His physique was stronger, his muscles denser, his nerve responses sharper.
He could sense his strength increasing, his reflexes heightened, and he was certain his speed had improved as well.
And this was just the beginning–after absorbing the mutant husky’s powers, it had taken him two days for his body to fully integrate the enhancement. Likely, this time would be similar.
The most immediate change was in his own superpower. His spatial portal could now open to a maximum size of 15 by 15 meters, though its maximum release distance remained four meters.
His spatial perception extended to over seven meters. How many times he could use it or for how long he could sustain it remained untested–but it was clear he could do more, and for longer, than before.
A smile crept across Ray’s face. Just for this gain, the trip to Senna University was already worth it.
There was only one downside.
After absorbing an ability, he became uncontrollably aroused. The second time was especially intense; if he didn’t release it immediately, he risked blowing up. It wasn’t about impatience–he literally couldn’t help himself.
So… he’d need a woman with him when going out? Otherwise, what—use a sex doll? He shuddered at the thought. Maybe that
could be avoided.
Molly, watching the subtle changes in his expression, didn’t dare say a word. One wrong sentence, and if he wasn’t fully satisfied
… she could be next.
Could she resist him? Not a chance.
Besides, she needed his help to search for her sister and take them away from here. She was in no position to demand anything.
The car continued westward, taking two turns before arriving at the West Cafeteria.
Unlike the East Cafeteria, this one looked like a war zone–most of the windows were shattered, the walls pockmarked and
crumbling.
“What happened here?”
Ray stopped the car. Molly couldn’t wait any longer and leapt out, running toward the cafeteria.
“Katie! Katie!” she shouted.
The cafeteria doors opened just in time, and she rushed inside.
Ray followed leisurely, every nerve on high alert–he didn’t know if another ability user lurked within. Even without one, ordinary humans couldn’t be underestimated; a stick to the back could take someone down, even with powers. After all, he wasn’t a mutant husky built for endurance–his defenses and recovery weren’t comparable.
“Molly?”
A voice of joy reached him as he entered.
Molly had found her sister, and they clung to each other tightly. Katie faced Ray, allowing him a clear view of her face.
Katie was drop–dead gorgeous.
Molly was gorgeous enough, a solid 90 on the scale of beauty, but Katie surpassed her by a few points. Youth radiated from her vibrant and untainted, unlike Molly, who had endured years of hardship.

Katie’s figure was likely just as good as her sister’s, Ray thought, smirking to himself.
This fresh–faced girl was firmly in his sights.
Scanning the rest of the cafeteria, he noted there were only about twenty students left, roughly half male, half female. The girls eyed him with curiosity and a hint of something else; the boys‘ gaze was unified: rejection.
Ray understood–they were jealous. Molly had come with him, and he was likely going to take both sisters away.
A small laugh escaped him. Even now, in the midst of this apocalypse, people still had petty emotions? University students really were naive–still clinging to dreams of the future, not fully resigned to despair. Otherwise, they’d be thinking only of survival, not love… or jealousy.
Molly spoke quickly with her sister, and the two approached Ray.
“Let’s go,” she said.
Katie looked at him gratefully. “Thank you.”
Molly had explained that Ray was helping out of goodwill. She didn’t want Katie to find out about their agreement. She didn’t want Katie to sacrifice herself.
Ray didn’t correct her, only smiled faintly. “It won’t be easy,” he warned.
