My Reborn Apocalypse Begins with a Divorce novel Chapter 26

Ray couldn’t help but laugh.

He thought, There’s nothing more disgusting than someone with no shame. Your grandson stole my food, and somehow you’re the one feeling righteous? You even dare to threaten me?

He felt an urge to slap her across the face, but he stopped himself. There was no sense in losing his temper over something this small. He had his own way of handling them, and if he scared the brat off now, that would ruin the whole setup.

So he said nothing, stepping silently into the elevator.

That silence only made Fantasia more smug. Her grandson’s eyes darted mischievously, as if he were already plotting his next move.

When the elevator reached the first floor, Ray walked out. Behind him, he could still hear her shrill voice:

Cody, if you see his delivery again, just take it. A man with that much money should share a little, you hear me?

Yes!Cody replied, encouraged by her approval.

A faint smile tugged at Ray’s lips. Exactly. Keep pushing. The more entitled you feel, the better.

He walked to the fruit shop and bought an armful of fresh produce. Even if he couldn’t finish it, it didn’t matter— everything could go straight into his dimensional space, where it would stay fresh forever.

Back home, he washed an apple and bit into it.

He couldn’t predict how long the coming global catastrophe would lastcenturies, maybe millenniaand once it began, fresh fruit might never exist again. Best to hoard enough for several lifetimes.

By the time morning came, his plan was already in motion.

That day, he visited one of the city’s most exclusive restaurants and ordered a custom takeout meal. It was extravagantly priced, built from the finest imported ingredientsthe caviar alone cost two thousand dollars. Altogether, the lunch came to eight thousand.

He didn’t even flinch. To him, it felt almost cheap. They had used the best ingredients possible; there was simply no way to make it more expensive.

Eight thousand would do.

And the best part? The entire meal was designed to beinvigorating.

The restaurant manager couldn’t help glancing him up and down, half amused, half wary. The man must’ve thought Ray was preparing for some kind of marathon date night.

Ray paid in full, signed the receipt, and left without explanation.

He spent the rest of the day the same as usualreceiving deliveries, storing food, quietly filling his space with suppliesbefore heading home.

Meanwhile, next door at the Cameron household, Cody had been waiting all day. After yesterday’s stolen meal went unpunishedand even earned his grandmother’s praisehe had no fear at all.

As soon as the new delivery arrived, he darted out the door, grabbed the large, ornate food box, and hurried back inside.

Fantasia’s eyes lit up the moment she saw it.

Serves you right, Mr. Big Shot, she thought bitterly. You called property management over a single stolen meal? Fine. Let’s see how you like losing another one.
