When she opened her eyes again, Sampson was already parking in the driveway.

Wendy hastily sat up straight, flipped open the visor mirror, and smoothed her hair. "Why didn't you wake me?"

"We just got here," he said, putting his phone away.

The two of them walked inside.

Winona had been waiting all morning, thrilled to finally have them back.

The moment she saw Wendy, she rushed forward and linked her arm affectionately. "You must be exhausted lately, right?"

"You look like you've lost weight," Winona said, her eyes brimming with concern.

Wendy touched her own cheek. "I haven't lost weight, Mom."

With all her night shifts over the past month, her eating schedule was a mess. Plus, most of her meals were right before bed. She had stepped on the scale that morning and actually gained two pounds.

Winona wasn't buying it.

Clutching the perfume, she immediately led Wendy upstairs.

Wendy had only heard from Sampson that his mother liked perfume.

"These are all my collections," Winona said, pulling Wendy to a stop in front of one of the displays.

In the perfectly ordered arrangement, there was one empty spot right in the center of the shelf.

Winona let go of Wendy's hand and carefully placed "Dream of Love" into the gap.

Closing the glass door, she looked at the newly completed collection with pure, overwhelming joy. "Wendy, you must have gone to a lot of trouble to find this, right?"
