My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 101

"Who was that man?" Lucian suddenly changed the subject, his voice cutting through the quiet.

"Which one?"

"The one you spent half the night talking to." Lucian's tone was deadpan.

But whether it was her imagination or not, Seraphina felt a sudden prickle of apprehension on the back of her neck.

Lucian sounded exactly like a husband interrogating a cheating wife.

Little Bean gloated from within, "Mommy, Daddy definitely saw that. He's so jealous right now."

Seraphina didn't have time to respond to her unborn child.

"You mean Gideon Grant? He's a partner at Stellaris Capital. He was interested in my patents and wanted to discuss a potential partnership," Seraphina answered honestly.

Lucian narrowed his eyes. "Stellaris Capital?"

"Yeah."

"He's the youngest Grant brother," Lucian remarked casually.

Seraphina paused in surprise. "You know him?"

"Not personally, I just know of him. It's fine if he wants to talk business. But before you sign anything, I need to review the contract."

Seraphina frowned. "Is that really necessary? I can handle it myself..."

"Sera." Lucian cut her off, his tone turning noticeably more serious. "You're not alone anymore."

The words caught in Seraphina's throat.

She looked down, her heart racing at an abnormal speed.

Little Bean was bouncing off the walls inside her. "Daddy is so manly! Just say yes, Mommy! Daddy is looking out for you!"

Seraphina rolled her eyes internally.

Whose side was this little traitor on, anyway?

"I got it," she murmured softly.

The corners of Lucian's mouth turned up in a minuscule arc, but Seraphina caught it.

This man really looked breathtaking when he smiled.
